She wrote this song when she was 19 or 20. She won the Ivor Novella songwriting award for it in London.
When Amy's in form, she's a tough act to follow.
Very tough.
I love every bone in her body.
She's at SXSW here. 2 years ago.

~ ~ Hi Phil, I'm not very up-to-date with singers & hadn't heard of Amy.

You said she wrote it when she was 19 or 20 - I'm wondering how long ago that video was...Ya know what got me about that video (apart from her singing)........that is was such an informal setting! People were able to be so close to her.

I take it SXSW is a venue where there was a concert? Did you get to see her when she was there?

hugs, Kath

The world is full of it

>she will be dead this year,

I suppose I'm sorry to hear that.

>just been kicked off her paradice island for scaring the tourist

No big deal

>as a jazz singer she is cool

Never heard her

>its not my bag

I don't like jazz either,

>but in ingland every one is pissed off with her self distruction

Why?

>the gutter press dont even touch her now.

The English press is in a class of its own.

I'm not really a jazz fan either, but I do appreciate singers with different voice/singing styles. I somehow can appreciate things without necessarily having them as my favourite things.

I'm glad, 'cuz I didn't used to be like that.

As impossible as it sounds, I never heard her music until recently, and I think she rocks!!! What an amazing voice! I bet she's unbelievable in person. I'm definitely a new fan! Thanks for posting that Phil!

Glad you liked her. Her 'Frank' album is good too. It was her first record, she was 19.
