Rage has waned into Resignation

Posted by verne on May 27, 2009, at 20:42:53

I know I've been on the rampage here more than once, hurting others. I know I've apologized umpteen times but, the rage has turned to remorse and resignation. I'm too worn out to be angry.

I think this is a true sea change and not just a momentary cyclic thing. (long story that involves family) I'm like the guy in the Robert Frost poem, who after years of cursing everything, accidentally, while cutting wood, lays an axe into his leg and says nothing.

I may be blocked and go away for something else, but it won't be for laying traps and ambushing posters with mean-spirited, hurtful, comments anymore.

I know I have no credibility - just look at my track record - but this is for real, at least, until the next time.

*****I missed all that - You havent't hurt me, yet. And you have apologized - that's the important thing.

*****You have such a way with words. (I hope your family's okay.)

******You have tons of credibility with me.

*****You did not disappoint.

Seriously, Vern...raging or rampaging - I alway appreciate your posts!
You make me laugh(intended or not), and that means a lot in my own little matrix life.
So, thanks.

Vern how come we don't e-mail anymore? I think you're a great guy. Any closer to finding the perfect retirement near the water? Love Phillipa

I'm not so sure about your track record, but you do have credibility.

You're too kind. Have you seen the movie, "Love Actually"? Sure, it's contrived, and what movies aren't? but I love it. So contrived it made me cry and I fall for it over and over.

Still hoping to actually read a book again but keek goink back to these same old movies.

I've tried to watch it with friends and they all ended up "watching" me - think they make bets when I'ed start crying.

Same thing happened when I trusted family with this movie. They all ended up looking at me, wondering why I was crying. They missed half the movie snickering at me.

So, beware who you watch this movie with, who you betrust to share a tearjerker. Be careful.

Actually, you haven't demonstrated any behavior that would indicate to me that you are not credible. Quite the contrary. Despite behavior that you believe to be inappropriate, you still manage to be open and genuine.

I understand what you are saying, but I say bah humbug on them. They just don't get it.

I wouldn't stare at you. For one thing, I'd be too busy staring at the movie (I'm seen it twice - kinda a love/dread thing - I want to see it again as I love the story, the idea of it all, but I hate it 'cause it'll reduce me to mush...)

Guess you shoulda watched it with me. I'd be touched at your tears AND I would gladly pass the tissue box without any accompanying stares.

So there.

BTW, the credibility you *already had here* - it's rising and rising... :-)
