Just back from 8 days on the locked unit at Evanston Hospital. I erroneously thought that .7 serum lithium would protect me. Sorry I can't talk because my wife is still afraid that I am manic. Maybe I'll share in the future some day. In the mean time, know that I am getting better.

That's hopeful news Toph---you've just gone through a lot-an emotional rollercoaster. I don't know what you're like IRL---but I've honestly never caught the slightest glimpse of your mania here. go figure? you seem perfectly "normal" to me---especially when it comes to dealing with/ raising family. Best of luck on your journey-----ignorant me would have suggested an 8 day fishing trip.....

I'm glad you're doing better.
Losing a parent is a very stressful life event.

landscaping therapy is good. it is great thet FMLA allows your DW time off to be w/ you.
losing one's mother is so hard. sorry you crashed. good thing there are hospitals and meds and doctors to help when one's brain 'goes off the rails' into mania. it sounds like a fairly normal reaction to have after such a devastating loss. there is only so much one can handle and after making the arrangements, deailng w/ the funeral, managing the estate affairs there's not much left in one's reserves.
remembering the laughter and love helped through that first hard year after losing ma. talking LOTS helped too. you'll find your way along through this grief.
keep taking care. day by day. hour by hour. go slowly and gently.
much love from Montana or Idaho or wherever KK's mansion is. ; )

So what if babble became a ghost town and only the best of us remained? You could be sheriff, _z, really. I know you'd let everyone out of jail. Order would be restored. Wanderers would gladly settle here. The new community would thrive - all because of the new laissez-faire policies of the woman with the shiny badge.
