What is happiness?

Posted by seldomseen on December 30, 2007, at 10:06:53

For me happiness is:
A new pair of contacts
My kitten attacking my ponytail
Chamomille tea
When my dog snores
Catching an "uncatchable" horse
My comfy couch
Rain.

Waking in the morning with a dog on each side of me, realizing I don't need to get up for a while yet

Cool weather

Looking at family photos

Hearing my son gently and indirectly reprove me for saying something uncharitable, and realizing I've raised a better man than myself

Rosie's #2 dinner at El Mercado. 3 enchiladas, taco, tamale, rice, beans, guacamole salad, chips and hot sauce, and fresh homemade flour tortillas.

Only in Texas will you eat Mexican food like this.

Chardonnay
Fire in the fireplace
Watching the film "Holiday" with Katharine Hepburn and (sigh, the most handsome man in my fantasies) Cary Grant
My two cats who don't get along well in a peace treaty and both asleep on my lap.

Jeez - maybe I'm depressed!

I can think of things that I like or love but can't 'feel' happiness right now. I think I'm having S.A.D happening.

My cat Ginger (AKA Dindoo, Birdeeboy, etc)

Fluffy, huge snowflakes drifting slowly down

Looking out after an icestorm when everything is covered with ice & the sun is making 'jewels' sparkle brilliant colours on the branches - I've only seen the jewel thing a few times ever.

Sitting alone by the rocky shore at Killbear during my Kath's Week Away in June

I wish I didn't feel so, sort of surrounded by cotton-wool feeling.

Maybe if I think of things like the above several times a day it might help.

Kath

That's one of the reason's I posted this. As a reminder to myself and others, that even though we may be having a rough go of it right now, there are still some really good things in this world

I hope you feel better soon

Kath and Seldom
just reading this dialog has brought a smile to my face.

Supporting others, and watching the same is such a gratifying experience.

Kath, I hope the cotton wool clears up a bit. You have had a tough year. maybe the cotton wool is a bit like a pillow designed to protect you from the insults of a difficult world?

At any rate, happy new years to all. may this year bring joy and clarity

Hi Phillipa, not better yet. No antibiotics; I really think it's a virus; no sore throat or blowy nose, etc.

Stress City today - see thread below.
