paranoia? can someone really put a curse...

Posted by slinky on May 28, 2007, at 7:00:17

...on someone?
I'm moving soon , I have been crippled with anxiety because of the person who lives upstairs.
He's from Guana-he said he'd put a curse on me when I sit outside in the garden. I heard him say something through the upstairs window and made a hissing sound, at the time I wasn't bothered cause I took klonopin.I know it sounds stupid but I can't get it out of my head now.
I feel a dread that something bad will happen.
I know I'm stressed about moving hoping things will run smoothly, I just sit in my apartment with my stomache churning , can't eat much and chain smoking. I hope I can keep it together..in two more weeks I'll be out of here.
Am I going crazy or just it's a natural reaction to moving home? Can a curse be real.

damn him then, if he did (there, i cursed him...)

sweetie, personally, i think (and i've never, ever, ever claimed to know a thing about these sorts of things either. i wouldn't want to come across as an authority on anything except myself, and hardly qualify for that. but, i can sure let lose those swear words, so perhaps i'm not as far off as i think, eh?)

you precious doll... the way i see it, a curse would only have power in the fear you have. and it seems you enjoy beign outside (does this make sense at all? i've yet to have any coffee yet and doubt i make sense to myself this early.).

bascially, i'd say not. do what you want. actually, do what you need. to get out of there sweetheart. and on your way out, hiss at that mean old man. or, even better blow him a kiss, while thinking 'here's to the sweetest kiss you'll never get dear.'

((((slinky)))) take care of yourself. don't let your fears and anxieties get in the way of getting out and into a better place, got it? it sounds like you need this move. i tend to wait until the very last minute (i was at the grocery when several people arrived yesterday for the duck's birthday party. i tend to be that way. oh well, everyone was pleasantly happy with the party, it wasn't nearly as bad as i thought it was going to be and i even got to stick my husbands face in the pond out front! can't beat that, now can i?) to do things and they still get done. it's my mo, but thigs still happen and they happen beautifully. problem is, until then, i'm a complete bitch because i worry myself half stupid and mean thinking 'why'd you even set any of this up?'

moving's hard slinky. but, the final outcome is a grand result!

be good to yoursefl. and give yourself plenty of treats in the midst, got it? you deserve it!

You may rest assured: curses are not real. Many paranormal investigators have studied the phenomenon, and there's nothing supernatural to it. It's just a very good example of the nocebo effect.

I hope you feel better Slinky.

My thought would be that they would only work if you believe in them. But if you do believe in them, would it be so awful to look up blessing charms to counteract it? Or to pray for protection, if that is more in keeping with your belief system?

Or maybe that's the OCD in me talking.

Whoa! That would totally freak me out! What a weirdo! I don't really believe in them, but you could probably wig yourself out over it though. So I will send you positive energy, which I DO believe in!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
!!!!POSITIVE ENERGY!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You now have way too much positive energy for any curses to exist in your realm. I am dead serious about this. Don't seek out bad energy, you must concentrate on the POSITIVE!!! You WILL have a positive existence if you seek it!

The curse has broken!
Seems a bit silly thinking these things..but my little brain plagues me with such nonsense. Not long till I move from the neighbour from hell..
He was friendly at first then too friendly asking for money and claimed he could cure my ills by blowing on me..what a joke.
I hereby tend to start taking life less seriously.

Slinky..
Thanks friends for easing my my fears..later when I've settled I can give something back to the gems of this community.
