Yes, thanks for posting this, Daisy.

Falls, I went through this about a year ago. Probably a bit different scenario, but in so many ways, no matter what, dads are dads and losing them just hurts so much.

I am praying for you and your family. If you ever want to talk, Babblemail me any time. I mean that.

Thank you all for your special wishes and prayers.

We had a real scare on Friday, but he settled down a bit, and has stabilized today. He is still very, very sick, and we don't expect that he will get better, but he is with us for a little time still. Each day that I can see him is a gift.

It is wonderful to have your support.

You're in my prayers, in this difficult time. Yes, each new day is a gift. May you close this book of life in peace.

My dad died tonight. His death was peaceful, and my sister and I were with him. My mother was upstairs getting ready to go to dinner with us. She came down just after he died, she said that we all needed to eat dinner. That was what she needed to do. So we got dinner. She copes by making sure that everything stays the same.

I was blessed with enough time to say goodbye to my father. He is now at peace.

Thank you all for your prayers and support.

I did the same thing, with my kids. Nobody would have thought to eat, otherwise. I don't think you ever stop being a parent.

I'm so sorry Falls. My dad died about 2 years ago - also very peacefully and surrounded by his family. I had a pretty conflicted relationship with him, but it was still important to be there in those final days and to be there with all of my siblings. I think it helps in dealing with the loss. It helped me to be around for long enough before he died to realize that it was really time for him to go, and it helped to know that he was so cared for in his final few days.

As the last of the leaves finally let go and peacefully float away cradled in the wind, take comfort in knowing that even though the tree will spend some time bare and alone, its roots are strong and warm and spring will come yet again. This is the cycle of life and we are all part of that cycle. Just as it is OK and necessary to grieve the gray of winter, so too is it OK and necessary to rejoice in the healing rebirth of spring.

Falls - your dad leaves a strong family tree and you are all part of his legacy. I'm so sorry for your loss. Please give your mom my condolences too.

Love and hugs,
Daisy
