The slogan for the new HPV vaccine is "I'm going to be one less." That is grammatically incorrect!!! It should be one FEWER. Less is used for un-countable quantities like "less water." Fewer is used for things that can be counted, like people.

Drives me insane.

also grammatically incorrect. should be "think differently." i think the sense is supposed to be along the lines of "think vacation" or "think polka dots for your bridesmaid dresses" but it still annoys me.

But it made you think, didn't it? Something different for a commecial. Now, if you toss in some punctuation, you could say:

Think "different."

Which would be a grammatically correct imperative insisting that "differentness" come to mind when you engage with the product so-sloganed. But sometimes you just gotta break the rules (which that slogan does, figuratively and literally). I mean, how cool would Star Trek have been if Kirk said:

To go, boldy, where no man has gone before

If you're gonna have a cult classic, sometimes you just gotta split an infinitive.

My vote for worst slogan? "Welcome to the Social"

yes, you are correct. :) it did make me think. i guess what makes me sad, though (i know, i'm overreacting) is that a lot of people don't realize the slogan's breaking the rules on that level. so the slogan just encourages sloppy grammar.

but maybe the rulebreaking is a kind of subtext here, and it doesn't really matter whether people catch on. what matters is that it's a catchy slogan. (i'm an apple fanatic, so i can't really blame them.)

I'm cheating here, 'cause it's not slogans, per se, it seems to be their songs.

With Vonage, I *like* their ads - the wild and weird stuff always going on in the background of the person speaking - BUT...it's that frickin' song...!!!!

WHOO-HOO, WOO-HOO-HOO, WHOO-HOO, WOO-HOO-HOO....

...whatever!!!! I used to like it but now it's an earworm from h*ll! My SIL has it bad, and sings it incessantly any time I'm around him. hmmmm...could be he's the issue...not the commerical...

Busch beer - they play the ad too much, waaaaay too much, and again that SONG:

"feel it comin' in (<not so sure on that lyric), the mountains win again, the mountains win again"

Uhhh...feel what, coming where? Pardon me? Anyway...the mountains win what? Again? Have we had contests with the mountains before? What's the prize? If the mountains win, does that mean we lose? I say 'yes' because if I have to hear that song much more I shall LOSE my mind!!!!
