I got drunk on New Year's Eve

Posted by Deneb on January 1, 2007, at 15:22:37

Hey Bob, hey everyone,

I got drunk on New Year's Eve. :-(

I wanted to get a little tipsy so I drank a Mott's Clamato, then 2 Mike's Light Hard Lemonades, then a mixed drink, then half a Mike's Light Hard Lemonade. I was sitting down most of the time so I didn't even notice I was getting drunk before it was too late. Once I stood up and walked and felt wobbly, then it hit me that I drank too much.

I didn't act drunk. I did talk a little bit more, but I wasn't going crazy or anything. I guess I'm never a party animal. The slightly more talkative and social me quickly gave way to a nauseous and puking me. This was the first time I ever drank too much and got sick. It's horrible! I'm thinking of never drinking again. Being drunk feels horrible. I don't know why people like alcohol so much. I don't want to drink alcohol ever again. It won't be hard because I hate the taste of alcohol. I hope I didn't mess up my liver or anything from taking meds with alcohol. Ugh, did I mention I don't ever want to drink again? LOL

During the night I found myself wishing to be one of the dogs there because I knew the dogs didn't drink alcohol. LOL I sooooo wanted to be sober. I hate feeling drunk. I hate it. Now I know how badly it feels. Yucky alcohol. I hate you. I would have had more fun without the booze. I would have been quieter, but at least I wouldn't have felt all weird and sick.

Never drinking again!

Bob, for the next Babble Party I'm not drinking. Alcohol is yucky! Maybe instead of treating us to wine or champagne you could treat us to some Coke Cola or something? LOL

I don't need to drink to be more adult. Alcohol makes all drinks taste bad. I should never force myself to drink ever again.

I don't see myself drinking for a very long time.

YUCKY ALCOHOL!!!!

LOL

Being drunk is not a good feeling. But now you know and you won't do it again. Most people I think do it at least once. Love Phillipa

I have a cold, and so does husband. We´ve been holed up in a South American luxury hotel for the last few days. No festivities for us.

Thankfully, the cold didn´t hit us during the days when we were staying at a less luxurious youth hostel.

Spending 2 days in a king sized bed with a view of the city and fireworks and a couple of movie channels is not the worst thing.

As it turns out, we had to walk for blocks to find an open store to buy water and snacks, so it´s not like we were missing much by staying in bed for the last 48 hours.

get your minds out of the gutter!

lol

back to bed.

achhhhhoooooooooooOOOOO!

lurps

p.s. Deneb, if we meet at a psycho-babble party, I will treat you to a VIRGIN strawberry daquiri. very tasty. you´ll feel like a princess!

p.p.s. I had a small glass of bubbly with dinner tonight. it was nice. all things in moderation.

I've only had small amounts of alcohol on a few rare occasions and I hate it. Anything with alcohol in it has a bad aftertaste. So I never drink, ever. I don't like to consume anything that effects my behavior or thought (I have enough problems in that aspect already =p).

Yes, I admit I was aiming to be drunk this time. I wanted to see what it felt like. I thought it would be fun. Boy was I wrong! I'm never getting drunk again! Now I've developed an aversion to alcohol and I hope I never touch the stuff ever again!

((((((((LlurpsieBlossom and hubby)))))))))

You poor things, on your holidays too. What horrible timing.

I'm glad you're in a comfy hotel. A youth hostel is not a good place to rest. Once of my greater fears is getting sick while travelling. I bring a lot of meds with me when I travel. I bring antacids, Advil, Pepto Bismol, Gravol, and whatever else I have on hand. If I go to San Diego I'm definitely buying traveller's insurance. What if I get a bad toothache etc?

I would love to try a virgin strawberry daiquiri. I think I've had a daiquiri once.

I think some people just never like alcohol. I'm one of those people and I think you are too.

Now that I know what it's like to be drunk, I'm never forcing myself to drink ever again. I just had to try being drunk once, stupid idea I know.

I think it's great to not drink. It's nice to know I'm not missing out on much. Alcohol wasn't fun at all. I will never understand why people like to drink it for fun. It makes me feel strange and it's not a good feeling.

I have not tolerated alcohol for quite some time now. More than small amounts and I'm at the high end of a toxic feeling reaction. The nasty reaction will last for almost the entire next day.

I have often thought I was/am fortunate in that regard, because I'm at the age where I see what alcohol overconsumption has done to some people I know. I can understand the draw but my consequences are not worth it for me.

I don't understand the draw of alcohol. Now that I've experienced it fully, I don't see how it's so great.

I don't think I'll ever drink again.

Hey

Well I just wanted to add that there can be different types of 'drunk' - sometimes it isn't so nice, other times it is very very nice. Like alot of things, its abit of a spectrum.

I personally really enjoy having one or two drinks in the evening. And no, I'm not an alcoholic, or an alcoholic in denial or anything. In Europe, its very common to drink in the evenings, particulary with dinner. I don't think its such a bad thing. Everything in moderation.

Kind regards

Meri
