languishing on this site....sigh

Posted by Jai Narayan on December 28, 2006, at 21:41:21

why oh why are my posts so unresponded to?
I will never know.
this was my first site to become part....of.
should I talk about my nails or about my favorite TV show?
I just don't know.
where to go...
2007 might be my year?
or will I just fade like some not here?
thanks for your lack of interest.
Jai

Hi Jai

I was thinking about this sort of thing. Perhaps I'd start a thread entitled 'Am I a Bad Person?'
Then a quick follow up (with no message) saying 'Yes'.
Then another (no message either) with 'Who asked you?'
And so on.

I'm sorry you feel unappreciated.
You can put a lot of energy into this place and feel you don't get much back, I know.

There is always the Thread Killer Theory. I have personally proven this theory time and again, it is valid I can assure you.
Nothing personal, yeah, whatever. It still feels crummy - but someone has to do it.

I didn't actually see where your unanswered post is languishing; can you point it out or maybe post it again over here?? I do love to see you here, Jai.

sweet jai...

i'm sorry that you're feeling ignored or underappreciated. i may have missed something, but i haven't seen a post from you in a while. perhaps on different boards that i'm not checking (shoot, i don't even look at most of these boards anyway. i have no faith, i hold myself in the highest esteem, i can't really read, and i eat way too much junk to be talking about it with anyone else. and that writing one, i wouldn't want to make anyone jealous of my prose and poetry.) so, i stick to social and admin only. i check the newbies board (cuz kk wants first picks on fresh meat) but really i only keep up with the 2 boards mentioned.)

i'm up for discussing nails (i tore my fake ones off and now i'm left with bloody stubs that once were long, beautiful nails.) i'll talk about my favorite tv show if you wanna (that's a tough call really. i am madly in love with jack mccoy from law and order. and last night on the discovery channel, there was some show about robots and what would happen if they were to revolt or whatever. yuck! stupid metal arms.)

but, we could instead talk about the wine we shared last night, couldn't we? (i got my husband a bottle of merlot from graceland vineyards. it was alright, but it was a pretty cool bottle. that's why i got it, i wasn't expecting much adn was pleasantly surprised. and the cork had a silouette of elvis shaking his hips.)

better yet, i could tell you that i'm sorry you're feeling ignored. you know, if you post more on social, i'll take every opportunity to talk to you. (((sweet jai))) take care of your lovely self, ok? and please post to me.

did you get any presents over the holiday? i got an ipod and foudn a couple taj mahal songs that are really good. and i got like 7 pairs of socks (they are so cute). soo tell me, what'd you do over the holiday? i'm certain you drank some wine, but what else? tell me, tell me, i'm dying to know!

i tend to do it. i think i've killed 4 or 5 on this page already. i guess i just figure, i write so much on this board that i'm bound to kill a few of them. doesn't bother me at all. in fact, i'll probably kill this one as well. or maybe, i'm like the weirdo. when i come into the conversation, everyone hushes up quick (maybe it's because i just can't keep a secret and no one wants me blabbin everything i know?). whatever the reason, it doesn't bother me. (come on people, you can tell me! i won't tell anyone else, promise! :)

I haven't written it down yet, but it's along the lines of that every poster, at one time or another, will feel like any thread they contribute to will stop with their post. Thus, Killing the Thread.

A common phenomenon, I believe.

Note: the above TKT (Thread Killer Theory) has no basis whatever in reality. Except for my subjective own reality.

Bow to my presence and watch this thread die!

Seriously Jai Narayan, this comes up again and again. Its a fluke. I've killed many, many threads in my time. I mean many! I just keep posting. You know like on Finding Nemo, "just keep posting, just keep posting, just keep posting posting posting".

Seriously I do end alot of threads. I just try to think of it as I've said everything so completely that no one else needs to say anything.
