... I wanted to tell yall how much I appreciate your happy b-days. They were (here's the pathetic part) the only happy birthday's I got. The people at work forgot. We always send around a card to be signed by everyone, but they forgot. I was sitting there going, "Where's my card?". I was looking forward to it because everyone tries to outdo everyone else on saying something funny. Plus I knew it would be my only card (yes, pathetic). They just lamely apologized a couple hours into the day.

We also pin dollars on the person's shirt at work. I got alot of money out of guilt. Funny, I would have preffered the card.

None of my relatives called. I talked to them a couple of days later. And then my Mom was the only one who actually said 'happy birthday'.

So there it is. I'm feeling pitiful and I guess I'm seeking some comforting. Yeah, I know, pathetic.

Hey TC :-)

No you're not pathetic at all. I'm sorry you didn't get a card 'n stuff. I would have preferred that too.

How 'bout we wish ourselves to this place and just wander through the rainforest for a while. See ya there. I'lll see if they'll bung on a birthday cake too ;-)

You're all so sweet. I'm feeling much better today, I guess my boo-hoo party was only for one night.

This is one of those times when I feel really grateful for living in the time of SSRI's. A decade ago that single night would have turned into a downward spiral with no end in sight. Yea meds!

I hear so much negative about meds that I have to remind myself sometimes what life USED to be like. I resent that time. Its like a piece of my life was stolen, and all because of something off in my brain that can now be corrected by taking a pill everyday.

I feel like on some levels I'm a 26 year old instead of a 36 year old because of this. Especially at things like socializing, interacting with guys, and stuff like that. Maybe that's why I like younger guys. Maybe I feel more on level with them somehow.

Okay, I'm too tired to be getting all deep and everything. I better go to bed. Thanks again! I don't know what I'd do without my babble friends.

P.S. Damos,

A rainforest.... ahhhh. As soon as I read the word I was there.

BTW: what does 'bung on a birthday cake' mean? Bung sounds suspiciously like dung (manure) to me.
;-)

Do you have any other funny Australian sayings? Or would you know which one's would be funny to me?

BTW: I love Australian accents! Actually, I love all foreign accents, but Australian is definitely in the top 3.

One of my favourite is 'Budgie Smugglers' a term used to describe blokes swimmers - you might know them as Speedos. Visualising it explains it all ;-)

Surely you get enough from Steve Irwin. Most are really only truly funny in context.

I remember spending quite a while explaining 'Saving something for Ron' once. A friend was buying something to eat from the shop and I said she "should get another one and save it for Ron." She asked who Ron was and I said "He's my mate." (without thinking) To which she said "oh I didn't we were going anywhere after this, or is he coming over to see you?" So I had to explain that 'Ron' means later on. And that Ron is your mate cause he always comes round later - like mates do. So I thought she should get another in case she felt like one later on.
