She actually signed it and is in surgery right now. I've got my fingers and toes crossed. My poor mom. She was snuffling like a toddler.

Probably so. That's probably why I feel like holding her close and smoothing her hair and telling her everything will be ok, no matter what happens with her leg. In fact, I think I did tell her that and put on my best momly voice.

You are such a special woman. I'm so glad that you were able to comfort your mother. That must have been such a moment.I'll keep her in my prayers and light a candle for her coming thru surgery easily.

She had to have all her toes off on the one foot and a bit of the foot as well, but that's better than her leg.

I was getting too overwhelmed. I cancelled with the social worker, and am just going to concentrate on trying to get my mother to consolidate her requests to reduce my visits to see her.
I know she'd like company at the hospital, but my life is a mess and I have to take care of that.

I'm at the end of my personal resources, and if I'm to be of any help to anyone, I have to work on that first.
She's in good spirits though. Perhaps it's those strong painkillers.
