Nutcase

Posted by saw on September 29, 2004, at 3:42:16

My son and I were joking around last night. He was rolling on the kitchen floor and laughing at me because I'm scared of bats so I told him not to be such a monkey peanut. He laughed some more and told me if that if he's a monkey peanut then I'm a nutcase.

He is 6 years old! I wonder if he knows just how profound his statement was.

I'm still giggling.

My 8 and 9 year-old kids are a lot more knowledgeable about psychologists, psychiatrists and therapy than the average. My battiness is part of their everyday existence, but thank God we can talk about it. When my mom and dad were sick, nothing was ever said and that just made everything traumatic.

That's so good to hear, that you and your kids talk about things. Too many kids & parents have no idea how to.

My son and I have always talked. Like you, who I am is a part of everyday life. Better lived up front.

My mom's a lost cause. Sad.
