Maybe if we put all of our little bits of lives together we can come up with one decent one.

If not we can at least swap medications and forget about them for a while.

Bad hair here too. Make vow to stop cutting it, NOW. Okay. Decent body, very, for my age. Lately people look into my eyes and actually say things like "You're beautiful", right out of the blue. Hmm. Like that. Job I enjoy for now. School going fantabulous. Better job, really interesting and exciting, coming up in a practicum. Do I list the negatives now? Nope, better not. The hairs on my chinny-chin-chin say enough. But at least, I can get rid of them. Some religions don't allow that, you know. Which is really a test of faith for those people. Okay, enough rambling. Anyone else? We can make a decent person!!!

Sorry to be such a prude, but please don't use language that could offend others.

If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways of expressing yourself, please see the FAQ:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil

Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration. They, as well as replies to the above post, should of course themselves be civil.

Thanks,

Bob

OK, Doc, what's the violation here, anyway? » Dr. Bob

It's been my understanding and my observation, having seen it done thousands of times on PB without any repercussions, that using a "naughty" word was kosher as long as you used an asterisk or asterisks to "bleep" part of it and self-censor yourself. Which is exactly what Jai did. So what's up with the PBC in this case? I ask because I've posted close to 40 poems and short stories on Writing over the past two and a half months, and a lot of them have contained precisely the same form of self-censorship that Jai used. Has this rule suddenly changed? What's the deal? Because if I have to write only G-rated Disney-style poems on PB from now on, I'm outta here. There are plenty of other poetry message boards that aren't so heavy-handed when it comes to self-expression. So what's your ruling on this? I'd appreciate it if you'd explain why Jai rated a PBC on this, and how it affects the rest of us. Atticus

Dr. Bob added the asterisk when he quoted. It wasn't in the original post. His doing that always leads to confusion and I think he ought to add a line saying (asterisk included by me) or something.

Many thanks for the clarification, Dinah. I was totally baffled as to what the infraction was, and deeply concerned about its implications regarding my poems. Never mind, Dr. B. False alarm. ;) Atticus

It's all in my head. How does anyone in Babbleland really know how I look? I can't see myself through anybody else's eyes, except when I look at their face when they're looking at me.
Sometimes that face is full of love, sometimes not.
I choose to surround myself with people whose faces are, for the most part, reflecting the former.
Oops, that sounds so weird, almost like a mantra or something. But I think I just made it up. Who knows, maybe it all just happens ... this sounds so 60-ish!!!

Does anything else matter than the reflection in others eyes? Can you rationally decide the opposite of what those around you say to be the truth?

wasn't it recently (last 6 months or so) determined that this particular word could be allowed because it *could* be a donkey?
