Time for a 10

Posted by All Done on May 11, 2004, at 17:35:23

1. The weather has been gorgeous! I’m with you, Fallen, I just love warm weather.

2. My mom is happy and even though what she’s happy about is driving me a little bananas, it’s better than her being unhappy and leaning on me when I am not ready to handle it.

3. Five more days til KK’s big party and I just love big parties! I hope we’re all invited…

4. I finally got my husband to go with me to pick out his new cell phone. We have new plans and lots of anytime minutes so I won’t exceed the limit anymore and, in turn, he will no longer be able to get irritated with me about it. I just love to talk :).

5. Mimosas at Mothers’ Day brunch

6. I’m taking a day off of work on Friday (to do things around the house, but it’s a day off, anyway).

7. My dad *did* get to meet my son even if it was only for three months. My son *did* get to meet his grandpa...

8. My son is the sweetest, cutest little boy I’ve ever met in my life and he just learned to say "uh oh, spaghetti-o".

(Gosh, I’m struggling with this list today. Maybe even more important that I finish it off, I suppose.)

9. My husband gave me a very thoughtful Mothers’ Day gift. He blew the surprise last Wednesday, but I think it’s sweet that he was too excited to keep it a secret.

10. We took our dog to the pet store last night and let her pick out some treats. It was her 5th birthday. The store had birds, bunnies, and fish for our son to look at, so we all had fun at the pet store. Ahh, the simple things...

Whew!

Next? Anyone?

my turn, my turn and i think i need one...

btw, did you drink a bloody mary (or 4) with brunch? i'm sure i make them better than they did where you were.

10. i made stir fry for dinner last night. i made special for my vegetarian neighbor and she bought me a few beers during the day.

9. it's SOOOO nice to be able to sit around on a monday afternoon and drink beer. even though this free time won't last long, i'm going to take advantage while i am able.

8 group today sucked! no, there's no possible positive spin i can put on this crap i have to put up with once a week. but, i didn't show my outrage, it didn't affect me too much. i can control my irritation, i can control my irritation, i can control my irritation I WILL CONTROL MY IRRITATION (with a therapist who stinks!)....

7. i got my hair done and it looks lovely. at least after a stupid session (see above) i can look good.

6. i just saw a bunch of relatives. i heard, 'here, feel this' numerous times. (and why is it if someone in my family has a strange bump, they want ME of all people to touch it and agree that it's not normal? i can't touch people when there's a bump stiking out, i'm afraid the bump will then move to me... HELLO family, i'm neurotic and paranoid, please stop asking me to touch your bumps and bruises to see if it is in fact normal... IT'S NOT AND NOW I'M SCARED I HAVE WHAT YOU DID!~)

5. i must embark on a job search tomorrow. ok, there's nothing good about that one. but, at least i'll have fun driving while i'm searching.

4. i have the most beautiful family in the world.

3. i rode a dirt bike with a beautiful girl on the back. she was my sister, but i still looked pretty cool until i knocked it over when i stopped.

2. i'm happy right now.

1. i had fun this weekend. at a party i almost got in trouble, but didn't. in my hometown, i saw my beautiful mother and sisters. i jumped on a trampoline with my sister and was able to fall down on it and in the next bounce regain my balance. my uncoordination is somewhat improving, i think anyway.

Oh my gosh, I don't know if I'll be able to come up with 10! That's a heck of a lot! Okay, here goes:

1. I bought chicken salad tonight at the store, and made a yummy sandwich for myself. Ok, so I could have made the chicken salad....but I'd rather be waited on. Ha!

2. I still have $2 to last us until May 20th. It's not a great deal of money, but at least I'm not penniless!

3. I received two emails today from my cop angels. Yippee!!! I think they are the greatest! Unfortunately, they are no longer partners. Hmmmmm. I'll have to find out what happened.

4. We had beautiful sunny weather here today. I stayed inside, but the sun looked nice through the window! *smile*

5. I opened a fresh new tube of toothpaste. Isn't it the greatest when you're the first person to squeeze a new tube?? Lol! (Okay, so I'm grabbing here!!!!)

6. It's wonderful that I was able to even come up with 5 items so far.........

7. You know what? I can't think of anymore. Other than, of course, having met some really nice people through Babble.

Take it away.......

Sandy

8. your beautiful children who absolutely adore their mother

9. the weather is nice for a stroll. not that walk of course, but going for a nice walk in the evenings, when the sun is setting always helps to cheer me up and remind me of how beautiful life is. i notice you take walks as well. the weather is very nice for one of those 'clear your mind and just appreciate the beauty outside' walks.

10. you're still here, you're still trying and you are doing a beautiful job at it.

hope you have a wonderful evening sandy, and even sweeter dreams dear. take care, ok? love, kk

Oh God, do I need this today...

1. I worked on my dissertation and learned something about the statistic I need to use.

2. I got my evaluation for my training this semester, and clinically, it was great!

3. The parts that weren't great seem to be, in part, projection from my boss. In other words, not entirely about me. (But boy did it cut to the core of my issues. :(

4. I have created lovely flower garden beds around my house. I love to sit or stroll around and just look at what's new...what's opened up, what's grown, etc.

5. My husband isn't mad that I am getting montly massages despite the expense. Maybe it gets him off the hook?

6. Emmy S was online tonight and cheered me up big time. ((((EmmyS))))

7. The cicadas haven't come out yet!

8. My husband offered to take my car in to be fixed. (The blower for the AC quit working. Just what I need, driving with all the windows open when we are about to be invaded with billions of flying ugly bugs!)

9. I had my last class ever last week! (well, unless I change careers again, but not anytime soon!)

10. I'm going to call my T to ask for another session this week or at least to move my Monday afernoon session to Monday a.m. so that I don't have to process my evaluation with my boss without processing it with my T first! I've never asked for this before, but I feel okay about it. I think this is "10-worthy", but I'm not sure.

Thanks, All Done. I needed to do this today.

Take care,

gg

Unfortunately, no bloody marys (maries? how do you spell that?) The mimosas were free, the bloody marys, not so much. So, I drank a bunch of the mimosas - for the obvious economical benefit, of course ;).

I would love to try one of yours, though. Will you be making them for the party?

Hi, Sandy! Wow, I wasn't sure you ventured down here ever. Glad you did, though. It's nice to see/meet you!

I think it's great that you had the entries you did. No one really says it *has* to be a ten. (Nice of KK to finish for you, though, huh? She's sweet that way!)

Take care and I hope to see you around more often!

I do like to look around the site from time to time. *smile*

Actually, since Chat isn't working tonight, I'm just trying to find a way to talk with people.

No question - definitely "10-worthy"! Glad you feel okay about it. It's definitely a reasonable request.

Hi Fallen,

We haven't "chatted" in awhile. It's nice to see you! ((hug))

No, I'm not doing okay tonight. That's why I'm trying to find a place to chat. It's a real difficult night.

And I put a splint on my thumb, and boy oh boy, is it ever difficult to type! LOL!!

Take care, sweetie.

Thanks for asking. Sadly, it's not nearly as far along as I had hoped at this point. I have let external stuff get in the way, plus, writing (being evaluated by authority figures) is a big core issue for me, so I practice avoidance, procrastination, self-defeating behavior, etc.

But I'm a bit more motivated. I just put alphabet labels on a pocket file case to organize my articles. That's either progress or more procrastination! :) Actually, organizing will be progress, as right now everything is in piles.

Take care and give your precious son an extra hug!

Hi Dinah My T is NOT a PDOC but we debate meds a lot and he finally sees that SSRI's are not for many people and overused..causing SOME more issues and the need for more meds...so all in all overused and not well tested. I am very anti SSRI...limited use and time and much more
