And buzz buzz buzz. My exasperated husband has just declared me hypomanic and requested that I please do something about it. :)

There is no pleasing that man. First I don't do enough, then I do too much!!!!!!!

Talking about too much!! Husbands!!!! (No offense guys, I'll change that to My Husband!!!!!)

Dear Dianh,

Enjoy your energy and your wit and high spirits while thay last ! It's the blessing and the curse of everyone who has this disease... (The house always comes out much cleaner after these times, though... So he should stop complaining and enjoy...)

Meds not quite right, or what? A little neurontin always does the trick for me!

best wishes,

Wendy

Thanks Wendy. I may up the Depakote, but I'm enjoying it unless it turns ugly or gets out of hand. I think his objection is that I start projects that sort of trail off when I do.

Oh well, this time most of my projects involve professionals, so they'll probably get finished even if I run out of gas. :)

oooh... send some over here cos I need some!!! I'm very low today.. very low indeed.. yet I need to get my little flat sparkling for friends coming over to dinner.. and all I want to do is lie in bed and wallow in my misery! (Got some possibly bad news from doc this morning that I'm trying to avoid thinking about, but my body is telling me that its thinking about it of you know what I mean.. and no, nothing life threatening, but very life changing)

And you know that verge of tears feeling.. when tears come and your nose stings.. and you so want to just brak down and sob.. I got that, and all I want is to break down.. get it over with.. but can't.

Sorry.. gone off on tangent haven't I!!

You get as much done as you can with your mania, so that you have less to worry about if you drop down again!

Your husband isn't getting much sympathy, is he?

I, too, would like to borrow some of your hypomania. Us Uni-polar types get gyped.

Unfinished projects can be a problem. But it sounds like you are the catalyst and then others are finishing them. Is there some way that you can bound the number of projects? Would lists help to refocus you back on what you were doing? Not having this problem makes it hard for me to know what would help.

I am assuming that you aren't dangerous - just unfocused. Is that right?

Maybe he would like to finish the things you start. You start - he finishes. Then you both get what you want. (well, it was worth a try)

Good luck

In my experience, a little hypomania is certainly not a bad thing! I rather enjoy it, except when it means I don't sleep... :(

Enjoy the up feeling, don't worry about the unfinished projects (until it becomes a problem) and try to ignore his lack of pleasure for the time being. (Of course, I'm not married, so I probably have no right saying that!) It's just good to see you up up up!

Glad to hear you're buzzy! Always a relief after being draggy. Take advantage of it.

I've got a deadline in two weeks. So the timing is fortuitous. And while I'll keep working on my household projects while I'm up, whatever I don't finish, I've already arranged to have professionals finish up after me.

Wow, sounds great. I love the notion of 'professionals' coming in after me, to finish up everything I start.
