I'm really happy for you, I mean that really happy. Bitter as I can be its sure nice to hear stories of people who made their way out, and its a bit of hope too. I haven't tried zoloft yet.
Maybe I should I heard it caused weight gain though. Although I noticed in the ads it said 'weight loss' but so did most of the one's that I gained weight on I think.

Thanks JYL for the information.
I just got back from my useless GP who I'm stuck with.
He told me no ad's cause weight gain over 5 lbs
and that I wasn't gaining weight from Zyprexa,
And that Anti-depressants don't change your metabolism.
What a complete load of crap. This is the man I have to trust my mental health to for at least 6 mos.
Oh yeah, I told him I needed an Ssri with my Wellbutrin and he told me I don't need one because WEllbutrin is an SSRI...no thats just not true and I told him. Then he just gets huffy so I still don't get what I need.

Isn't that scary.
Sorry I needed to vent its so damn frustrating

hey you...

If you don't need any anti panic or anxiety effecy, which the zyprexa seems to be covering, try wellbuterin..I forgot the canadian name/// my ex in Nova Scotia, used and loved it.

No sexual sides, or hangover...high does though may cause small seizures but that is easily dealt with by upping the dose gradually and using the sustained release form.

sorry to have flipped you out about the weight I gained on zyprex...

In peace, ~tony

1. Five words (not sure if this is a national campaign or local to California):

"Lost another loan to Di-Tech."

2. Eleven words (local to California)

"Sit & Sleep will beat anyone's price or your mattress is FREEeeeee!"

3. Most annoying jingle:

800-588-2300 EmPIIIIIIIRE

http://www.empirecarpet.com/Home.asp

4. Most annoying facial expression: the female intern's pursed lips during one segment of the Dell commercial (when she looks at the other intern after being chastised).

5. Biggest stretch (no pun intended). The guy who has apparently undergone a personality transplant because he simply asked his doctor about Viagra.

6. Strangest concept: "Elvis" singing La Vida Loca on "Kingtinued - The Greatest Elvis Songs You've Never Heard" - huh??? If there was ever a reason to feel disassociated with reality (for me), this would be it. Where are Priscella and the Graceland attorneys when you need them?

http://www.myelvis.com/

7. Scariest spokesperson: Dr. Lewis Feder promoting his revolutionary "SkinTight" patented formula. Read my collagen-filled lips: this stuff works (under professionally applied make up).

8. An "out of circulation irritant," but destined to resurface the next time there's a paternity dispute - Days of our Lives "Who's the Daddy?" campaign.

The way he says "Don't feel sorry for the little lamp" is hilarious.

Funny thing is, the first time I saw that commercial I did feel sad for the little lamp.

Lamest (IMO) ad campaign:

That's one of those that makes me scratch my head and wonder who took home the dough for that doozy.

Oh Somebody who's seen it!

Thank you Tony!
No I'm glad you told me about the weight gain, otherwise I wouldn't have begged for glucophage which is supposed to prevent the weight gain from Zypreza, Who knows what would have happened.
I become seriously sometimes suicidally depressed over weight gain, especially when it seems I don't have any control over it. So thank you.

Dear Gabbix,

I didn't gain weight on Zoloft but I have a really screwy endocrine system -- I can gain weight simply by looking at fattening foods or lose weight because it's Tuesday.

As I mentioned, a ton of meds didn't work for me - w/Zoloft, I began feeling better w/in the first 2 months on Zoloft. However,it took getting to max doses and staying there for a few months for "break-through".

We know it's Penney's though! They've succeeded! Hold firm! Stay strong! We cannot give them that power!

Jingles really do work though. How 'bout those "tiny little tea leaves in Tetley tea"?

Dunno, Kar. Penney's is kinda getting to me with that 'One Girl Revolution' campaign. As I was walking thru on my way to a hipper store, I found myself furtively glancing at the racks.. wondering.. maybe Penney's does have some cute clothes..

Why don't I know the Tetley Tea commercial? Some of them just don't break through or might be on channels I don't frequent.

Can you believe there is one commercial I live to hear? It's part of the Hartford Insurance Company's "Thinking Forward" campaign. This commercial is the adult equivalent of a day back in high school when I just happened to flip a channel and hear "Stairway to Heaven" (or "Layla") in its entirety. The musical jackpot.

The great thing about my "favorite" commercial is that there are no voices (hallelujah), just the music of Thomas Newman ("Possibility" from the movie Pay it Forward). It's enough to make me want to buy from Hartford Insurance (now that's the true purpose of advertising, to get you turned on about, of all things, insurance).

I love his quirky musical scores/soundtracks - American Beauty, The Player, Six Feet Under, etc.

"I found myself furtively glancing at the racks"

Does anyone else ever find themselves on what I call the "obsessive holy grail" for a particular item of clothing?

I know this is part of my OCD behavior, but because I've recently been on said quest your line, Tabitha, "furtively glancing at racks" really hit me in materialistic and personal way :)

Furtively glancing at racks . . . so visual. Stalking the next purchase.

A kind of quirky (my word for the day) guy friend of mine used to say "let's go shopping for uncoordinated sale items."

Uncoordinated sale items are the best! brings out creativity, trying to assemble a wearable ensemble. Or else you just end up with things hanging forever in the closet, tags still on, non-returnable.

Why is shopping so hard anyway? There's so much crappy merchandise out there getting in the way of the few good things. My holy grail is a really hip cute yet also functional handbag.

Don't you just love those Imodium commercials. The new one with the Twister type game and the girl has her cheek right up against the guy's butt.....WHY do we need to see these things?

I hate most commercials. I especially hate those cheap ones that repeat phone numbers 8 million times like the "Call-a-lawyer" ones or the local car dealerships. Very annoying.

A few of my least favorite things?

Yes, repeated phone numbers said in a certain tone of voice can be very annoying to me as well.

Most days I find the voices of NPR announcers irritating (perhaps because they sound sooooo controlled and I usually feel so out of control?).

Moving along - catch phrases that I know are coming in those direct marketing commercials . . .

"And that's not all, call now and as an added bonus you will receive blah blah blah" which is exactly why we have two "choppers" tucked away in a cabinet (and we forget to use both).

Or, "The next first fifty callers will receive, as an added bonus, blah blah." BUT, what if you're the fifty first? Do you still get it? What if you call in and they say "we've already had fifty calls and everything is gone," even though you know you called within nanoseconds of the commercial? By the way, all these "what ifs" are what govern my life.

BUT, I just realized that I wasn't as "what iffy" today! I drove all the way back home from downtown LA and didn't become perturbed once! And it wasn't like there weren't reasons. A heavy truck pulled out in front of me and turned left after the light had turned red, cars were poking out beyond stop signs in that maneuver I call the "watch out, lady, I'm gonna edge into traffic that's going 35 m.p.h. and you're just gonna have to stop."

Basically, today was a typical drivers training simulator video. And none of it unnerved me. When the truck pulled out (which should have been the deal breaker) I just sighed.

Oh yeah, and "that's not all," I just remembered the guy who was driving an Escalade, talking on his cell phone, and cruising right through a red light (to the amazement of traffic in both directions).

Typically, I would have "what iffed" THAT one all the way home ("what if I had been three seconds further down the road and he ran that light and hit me on the passenger's side, what if I died in traffic and T had to pick up N from school and tell him, what if I got hit and hadn't seen my parents in over a year).

It sounds like I'm what iffing right now, but I had to sit here and force myself into thinking what I would normally do in that instance (first, the chest pounding rush of adrenaline, then relief, then anger, then the little piggy went "what if" all the way home).

Somehow, my brain managed to by-pass all that today.

This is my brain on meds?

I think it is rather weird that Nexium is advertised with some guy that sounds like Henry Fonda. I wonder if this is a real dude, or did they digitize his voice from a movie and it is synthetic? ;)
