Freaked

Posted by Tabitha on April 19, 2003, at 19:33:54

I'm such a head case. Something bad happens, I freak. Something good happens, I freak. It's tough being me. I'm trying to re-balance. I've done laundry, mowed the lawn, gone shopping, showered, written in my journal, and called for help (unfortunately nobody home). I'm only about 2 percent less freaked.

I'm overwhelmed. All I want to do is lie about, obsess, worry, wallow in fantasy, or just let all the confusion build til my head explodes. Experience says that's not a good idea.

I don't know what to do with all this. It's too much. Maybe a long walk. There's still light left.

Tabitha? What's wrong? I hope something good, not bad.

If you want, you know my email address. I know the feeling all too well.

It's the good stuff. I met a guy I want to be close to. Same guy I thought was fizzling out, now we're talking for hours and being super-cuddly. This is not my summer fling fantasy. I haven't met anyone I thought I could get really close to for many years. It's an odd turn of events. Something good happened. Rain in the desert. I'm just scared. Afraid of losing my balance, losing my self.

Would it help if you came over here and did my laundry and cleaning?

What were you lying about? (Just kidding, I did understand that one).

Sorry for the irreverance there.

On a seriouser note--did something trigger this anxiety?

I'm sorry you are feeling this way.

Noa, my messy sister (I'm guessing the gender here) I have plenty of mess of my own here to clean thanks. The true freakout will happen tomorrow.. I invited new love interest to my house. I'll be spending the day cleaning. I saw his place and it's perfect, like a little zen temple only with nice art. No visible piles of stuff anywhere! No dust! Even his art studio was perfectly clean. Hmmm.. maybe this guy's a little off his nut after all.. what kind of person has a clean art studio?

Did you ever consider that he might have been freaking before you came over to HIS place? Maybe he's not that neat all the time.

A good test of character will be if your place isn't perfect and it doesn't get in the way of his relating to you!

I'm sure he was freaking for different reasons of his how. I'm OK with messy friends being here, but feel different about someone new and a 'date' at that. Like the standards are higher, but it's me setting the standards, so nobody to blame but.. me.

No no no! Dogman was 3 years ago failed dating experience. This is new guy about whom I was posting all my first-date anxieties. It's going incredibly well. I'm stunned.

And I don't mean "pet" in a little dog-man kind of way. Too bad that Gabbi ever mentioned that again really, because it's hard to let go. "I am the dogman, I am the walrus coo coo cachoo- that's how it went, right?)...anyway the point of this is that when I started dating my husband, we'd chat on the phone while he was cooking dinner. I was impressed; he's baking fish! This is so cool! (I don't really like to cook)...Well well well, once we got serious I found that he wasn't exactly a cook. And he found out that I wasn't exactly neat. Best thing is to get it out in the open as soon as possible. but you guys really just started dating, right? You guys will find out all of those little things soon enough and adjust. He might just be relieved!

This guy doesn't have cats, does he?

I cleaned the house top to bottom and cooked him dinner. My cat came in the next day and was walking around, like 'hey where are all the piles of stuff?' I can slide back into messiness later. I wanted to make a good first impression.

This guy's trippy. He's rocking my world. I'm liking it.

He has no pets. But he does have 3 realistic and lifesize plastic geese. I think they're actually hunting decoys. They're cool.
