I am sleeping a lot

Posted by Partlycloudy on October 25, 2013, at 13:15:11

And taking turns on the sofa with the cat. I am winning. My husband is getting in touch with the contractor about the never ending renovation. I am seeing my therapist every week. I had no idea today was Friday, did you?
Could have sworn it was Saturday.

Ugh, I hate feeling like this. At least I am not binge eating. Meh, I could care less about food right now. This swamp is getting old, though.

Sorry you're feeling this way. I have been feeling tired and unmotivated for a while now. I don't sleep, but I lie on the couch in this semi-doze. I drag myself up, do some work, start feeling fatigued again, lie down, zone out. For hours sometimes. I don't know what's wrong with me.

I think it's the hoarder-looking mess from the renovation. It is absolutely paralyzingly me.

I am very much over this months-long project that shows no sign of ending, and we are having trouble getting the contractor to respond. I need much more structure in my life thisin itself is enough to depress me severely.

Kind of a catatonic apathy has gripped me.
:-(

I have a tendency to get like that with lack of structure, too. Is there anything that you can do to set up external structure? I mean... In my case I can enroll in classes. Or try and commit to deadlines (by publicly making promises I'm reluctant to break). I hear that is why some people need a gym buddy to get themselves to the gym. Or to take a class for some feeling of social obligation.

I have taken to doing my journaling (long hand) at a local coffee house. Even with the noise there, I have a whole table to myself! That helps.
Other issues with the husband and I don't want to make anything out of this one, you know? It's out of our hands if the contractor/artiste isn't calling us back.

Better news

The contractor, whose main helper has been sick with a cold (probably the same one I was walking around Italy with) got in touch with us today.

My husband told him he had to make moves to finish the kitchen or I would have to be committed. Ha ha ha. The guy had not realized the implications of not being able to access the drawers and cupboards. WTF? Maybe he is as messed up as I am. I know he gets hung up on one aspect of the project and can't continue anything else until that one thing is resolved. In this vase it is the tiles he is having made for the backsplash. I am ready to tell him to make a mosaic out of what he's got.
Grumble, grumble, rolling around on the sofa until I look like an enormous burrito.

This little things that other people inadvertently do that bring my life to a halt. Good thing it wasn't me who answered the phone.

Hi PC,

One extra hard cyber slap to your contractor because he should get that the purposes of kitchen cabinets and drawers is to be able to use them.

Yes, he is pretty clueless and gets mired in the details. He knows how bad it became with me, though.

He understands that I needed to have one room functioning before going on to the rest of the miracle renovation...
