Quit therapy

Posted by Tetrix on July 19, 2013, at 22:19:29

I decided to put an end to therapy and I feel so liberated.
No more worrying and missing my t in between sessions, no more wondering why they did or said a certain thing, why aren't they calling back or emailing back to me. No more sadness caused by limited access to them and extra 125$ a week!

what are you going to do with the money?
do you have plans?
i mean... are you going to spend it on something special for yourself?
life will eat it up otherwise...

well 125 extra a week isn't really money... I will just take better wine with my dinners I suppose!
:)

ahaha sure it is money, otherwise you could send it to me :)

better wine with dinners could work.

in fact... if you don't think of it as money (and i do understand) then perhaps that makes it the perfect opportunity for you to really set that money aside for you to do something *special* for yourself.

i mean, really, something really special, that you otherwise might not think is justified or something.

better wine with dinners could work.

or a massage (if you are in to that).
a personal trainer.

i don't know.

just thinking... some people when they quit smoking set aside the money they would have spent and make sure to do something conscious with it like that. i guess it is about... a reaffirmation of their being better off now. of their having made a decision and their getting some reward.

i don't know.

I don't usually have the need to justify when spending on self, or others :)
But I see your point, frankly I don't think my T deserved to be payed that much for the quality of the services that she was delivering ( or the lack of)But lets wish her the best and move on.

I do need a vacation though..

scuba and city nightlife seems plenty active to me. not that i've ever gone scuba diving... one of my feet isn't set straight and my ankles are weirdly brittle so i can't do fins... so i can't scuba... i tell myself. i suppose i'm not particularly motivated to try. but i've seen some photos that people have taken of the living things down there and they do look kinda neat. and i appreciate the products of spear fishing even if the guys who do it tend to be... urm... ur... well... guys who like dressing in camoflague wetsuits and playing commando with spear guns.

um... so... you do a little spear fishing, then?

;-)

lol it may sound active but it really isn't..scuba during the day, eat, a bit of entertainment and sleep.. sleep after scuba is the best

no I don't spear fish as I don't always get to dive in areas that allow that..

i'll tell you about something that i did that was nice, while i wait.

i love coffee. i mean really. really really really really love coffee.

flat white. with the milk the consistency of thickened cream. and when you pour it you fold it through the coffee. well, i don't (i've tried and i'm to un-coordinated to pull it off). but some people do...

i try and get locally roasted. fresher. tastes better. and just because... and from somewhere where the people pride themselves on making great coffee. rather than a chain like starbucks...

anyway, i found a tiny little independent cafe that does really great fair trade organic locally roasted coffee.

they have a comic book exchange. so there are green lantern comics etc on the walls of the place.

i get takeaway on the way to the gym sometimes. coffee + foam roller = happy.

________

also: miso soup. after the gym. it is like the ocean is *supposed* to taste. warm and salty and delicious.

i'm not sure why it doesn't bother me to buy sushi from a chain. but deep fried sushi upsets me.

How long has it been? Do you miss her at all?

I think it probably is best not to have so much stress from therapy itself as I remember you used to have with your therapist.

Hi Dinah, it has been a month and yes I do miss her, a lot actually. But you are right, the relationship was unhealthy and was not good for me.
Thank you for asking. I hope you are doing well.

haha. yes, i expect it is the msg or similar that i am really addicted to in the miso. and the sodium / electrolytes after the gym, yeah.

tell me more about how you brew your coffee with spices...

i have a plunger (which i'm fairly sure you will know as a 'french press' but i don't think it is anywhere near as good as espresso coffee that i buy from cafes.

my friends used to make 'turkish coffee' when we went camping. that is what they called it anyway. it basically involved boiling coffee grinds with a cinnamon stick and a cardomon pod until it was a thick sludge... then giving it a couple whacks with the serving spoon to help the grinds settle, then pouring the sludge (carefully to avoid the grind / sediment) into something a little like shot glasses. it wakes you up.
