I quoted her books in my paper (Society's Hidden "Pandemic"--Verbal Abuse, Precursor to Physical Violence and a Form of Biochemical Assault).

The Untouched Key and
For Your Own Good

I've submitted that paper to the Journal of Aggression, Maltreatment and Trauma and it is under review.

sassyfrancesca,

sounds interesting. if published, will you send us a link?

What what sort of effect might result from the 'pandemic' of insulting sarcasm and put-downs that are filling tv shows for children and teenagers?

Yes, i will post the link, if published.

We have a society that glorifies put-downs, rude behavior and disrespect: VERBAL ABUSE.....and bullying.

Of course kids see this on tv and movies, and think it is okay; coupled with violence they see and hear at home...they don't have a chance!

Asian cultures generally do not even permit the expression of anger. To express anger is to lose face.

I can remember this photo of these Indonesian soldiers carrying bodies after a terrorist attack, and they all had these weird smiles on their faces, and they were (once you realised it) obviously very angry.
