Life is good, at least temporarily

Posted by TherapyGirl on July 24, 2009, at 8:47:43

I met with T last night for the first time in 3 weeks. She said she missed me. :-)

We talked about how to organize the time we have left together. She was more present than she's been in a while. It went well. She even told me she loved me -- she's implied it before, but hasn't actually ever said the words.

I also have a new rescue Beagle. I'm fostering right now, but if he gets along with Bayleigh, I'll be keeping him. He is heart worm positive, has a tick-borne illness and is horribly underweight. But he's also got a sweet, sweet soul and a personality much like Bayleigh's, although more subdued.

I'm glad that your t is being more present with you. When they are elsewhere in thought, we feel that distance and it hurts. Being loved is always a good thing. Hopefully this is a new start for the remaining sessions. Cherish each other and the bond you share.

The puppies also bring so much joy. I'm glad you decided to be a foster doggie parent.

Hope the new pup gets his or her physical problems cleared up and that you and therapist have some great sessions. My Oldest In Florida does the rescue animals dogs and cats. Takes a special person. Love Phillipa

:-)

I'm glad you had a good session. Maybe she had time to think, and maybe quit consulting with people who know nothing about the relationship you two have had all this time.

I had a hideous session Friday.

I guess your therapist used up the good energy they seem to share. :)

When will you be able to bring your new one home?

I really think we're onto something with this shared energy thing between our two Ts. I bet if we did a Babble search over the past several years, we would find a distinct correlation between good sessions for one of us and bad ones for another. My T doesn't seem to be able to have two good sessions in a row, so it's probably your week next week. :-) Joking aside, I am truly sorry that yours was bad.

I pick up little man today (I'm not calling him anything right now because I picked out one name but the rescue group gave me another that was picked by a donor). Wish me luck -- I don't really know what I'm doing, but I knew I had to do something.

Thanks, AnnieRose. I do think the whole dog thing has filled up some hole in my soul in ways I couldn't imagine. And I'm hoping T and I can indeed cherish each other from here on out. I'm going to try.

Thanks, Phillipa. Your oldest must be a great person. I don't think I am, but I'm going to do my best to do right by this sick little guy.
