Song, video....Trigger

Posted by B2chica on May 15, 2008, at 12:32:13

i don't know why but i really feel i need to post this video.
HOWEVER, i really feel it could be triggering to many. so please watch with caution.
triggering both dealing with SI and depression and relationship issues such as with BPD.

but i've always loved this song and now that i watched this video (about 10 times) i love it that much more.

and the writing in the video is in french...here are the meanings:

...understand what has been written. "Il m'aime" means "he loves me". On her hand, "un peu" means "a little". She paints "Beaucoup!" on the wall, which means "a lot". Then she has "Passionement" on her forearm, which means "passionately". She cuts "A la folie" into her leg, meaning "With madness". Lastly, she writes "Pas du tout" underneath "Il m'aime" which means "He loves me, not at all".

B2,
I really don't know what to say. I really don't get triggered by anything but this video was hard for me to watch with the SI. Otherwise, this is a really good group with some beautiful songs and videos. I had never heard of them before. I guess I'm getting old. Thanks for sharing. Hugs

B2c what kind of feeling come up? I know you say you love the music and it's lovely but in my opinion not a healthy video to watch. That's just me. Love Phillipa hope you're okay.

nope not getting old. i just listen to music that is not mainstream.
they are a great group. i have their last album PLANS and have a few track from their just released album. but i only now saw this video. i did get to see them in concert a few years ago (first concert i'd been to in YEEEEEAAAARRS) they were great. they were the kind of band i didn't feel like an "oldy" going to. bunch of people in their 30's there. all ages.

i don't think this is "their" video, i think some indie film maker made it though. i'll have to check again but just so ya know.

hi P, thanks for asking....

i thought is was an EXTREMELY artistic video and the fact that it was in french was great. i think someone wrote in the comments that it was like a nursery rhyme what she was saying/doing....i like that comparison, like a grimm tale or something.
i think the fact that i'm reading Anne Sexton's "Transformations" right now has something big to do with that.

it's not healthy and maybe that's what i was drawn to. that someone wasn't afraid to show SI in a video, the madness of a REAL relationship. because they are like that. you love me, a little, a lot, passionately, like madness, not at all...you love me.
love is a crazy making, mysterious thing that can make and break people, that has tolled the best and worst of us, that has been like this since the beginning of time and will be like this 2000 years from now.
to think of that. it was real. it was deep and dark. and painful. and passionate.

i felt it was a very strong video and wanted to share it.
BTW i don't think it was and OFFICIAL video by the band. i believe it was an indie film maker.

b2c.
