I decided not to do my internship right now

Posted by Happyflower on May 8, 2008, at 21:59:43

I realized it was too much for me right now. I left in a good way, they want me to come back when I am ready.
But I need to get my needs in order right now because my life is sort of a mess right now, so who the hell am I to help anyone with their problems? I am hoping these 4 months off from school will allow me to start school refreshed and a healed better person.

HF, cudos to you for knowing your priorities and the courage to tell everyone up front. And to standing tall for yourself. That is progress my friend. Way to go girl....

rsk

And here is to you getting refreshed and healed, and when you do please send those vibes via cyberspace this way! lol

HF, I've decided (again) that you are one smart cookie.

Good for you for setting your priorites and following through.

You're right, it's hard to help people when you need to put that energy on yourself.

Seldom

Yah, good for you! I think that is one of the hardest things to do. To give up obligations we'd like to be able to carry out. And you are doing with not too much guilt and inadequacy. Nice job :)

Oh Rk,

You sure know how to make me feel good! I didn't see it has progress, but I guess it could be seen that way. I do feel a lot of relief though because that job was on my mind way too much, not just the hours doing it.
Hey friend, I see you healing right along with me, we can do this with support of each other. Thank you so much Rk.

Thanks Muffy,

I guess that is what I am doing, I just never thought about it that way.

Thanks raisin,

I am trying not to feel so guilty about it, I feel like it was such a huge opportunity and it felt good that people believed in me. But it was just too much for me right now. Right now me and my family needs me, they have to come first once in awhile at least.

See HF, how you perceived what you did and how we saw it? You saw that you could not do something and somehow was a failure and we saw that you were taking care of yourself by setting limits on your time. Sometimes it is how you look at the glass, isn't it?
