i'm feeling...**triggers mentioned**

Posted by B2chica on May 6, 2008, at 13:52:21

very free today!

been on stupid life saving zyprexa for what, week and 1/2 now. i'm feeling back to normal. it took me three weeks to loose 5lbs and three days of zyprexa to put it back on.
fat and emotionally normal. i guess i have to live with until i feel safe enough to stop zyprexa again.

i think i can use zyprexa not as a constant but as a PRN. so i think 2 weeks of the wonder drug outta do it. then i'll take that out and maybe i'll have more energy in the mornings and i can get up earlier to exercise??

but man, today i'm not feeling manic but damn i feel GOOD! really ALIVE. full of music and life. i haven't felt this way i think since nursing (before i had to go back on meds). i think it's called feeling the creative juices flowing. now if i could stay up at nights long enough to get some paintings done i have about 5 sketches drawn up but no time to paint, since especially now with the zyprexa on board i'm in bed and asleep by 9:30-10. (which is just so weird for me). heck some nights i'm even ready for bed by 9.

also i have about 6 books started. although two of them are poetry books. i've just been jumping all over the place the last couple months. although i don't know how much of that i can blame on the hypomanic type behavior cuz i do have a habit of reading more than one book at a time, but usually it's just two sometimes three if ones a kids book or poetry book.
MAN!
i want to skip work and go home and finish quilting what's left of my quilt, paint my bedroom, clean my dining room (which hasn't been cleaned in a month), paint and read the one book that i've been putting off cuz it's harder reading. (i have to get that done cuz the second edition is coming out in june and a friend is sending it to me when it comes out so i need to be ready)

not that i have the energy per se to do all that, but i feel awake and alert. and i want to do the things that frustrated me before cuz they were left undone. everything seems good today.

in fact i'm listing to pandora right now and a song came on that has never come on to my station before, but i have the CD, i was listening to it one time when i xxxx my wrxxt. it's making me stop and think but it's not effecting me the way it normally does. normally i can't even listen to it, or it immediately brings me back to that place. and visuals, etc. it's not now.

i'm sorry for those that are still suffering.
maybe i can send some of my feeling good vibes your way....ok all???

I feel the same way about Risperdal. Except that I've gotten pretty skilled at taking it as needed, so that I don't get nearly as many highs and lows, and the ones I do get aren't as extreme.

I love my antipsychotics!!! (Although I prefer to call them major tranquilizers).

I'd be the last to minimize the weight issues and the health problems that come with it. But be careful not to be too stingy with something that's helping you so very much.

well, i think that's the key. my problem was before i was listening to too many others and not my gut. i was so concentrated on "having to take it all the time once i restarted it", now if i can just take it PRN, i'm MUCH more likely to kick start it as needed. when i need it cuz i'll know that its not a permanant thing.

the only thing is now. i'm feeling so good i'm worried that if i stopped too soon it would spin me into manic so i'm gonna wait till i mellow a bit.
cuz i am feeling REALLY good this afternoon. and since my low was soooo drastically low, there's bound to be a pretty good up about now.

Risperdal didn't do much for me, but i wonder about abilify? have you ever tried that one? what are side effects like for that one. i was often thinking about trying abilify the next time i have a downslide. i was gonna see if pdoc would give me some samples to try that? or if abilify i could even use PRN like i can with zyprexa or if i would need to be on more like longerterm. but if it doens't have the weight issues i wouldn't mind being on longer term as long as it worked.

I do loves my AP also.
thanks D!

I'm no expert, but I've heard Ablify is "activating". When I hear that term, I always think anxiety and itchy-jumpy agitation so avoid it like the plague.

But that's not to say I'm right in doing that.

You might want to ask on the meds board.

So glad that you're feeling better and can tell us about it! And thank goodness for that stupid life saving zyprexa, for all its weight-gaining effects.

oooh muffly, i miss you.
and that's one thing i need to keep remembering. is that God did not give me more than i can handle. i thank GOd he gave me bipolar in stead of only depression because i don't think i could handle only depression. he gave me bipolar so that i have repreves. and i need to remember that (like you say).

and i took little one to park the day before yesterday and it has a big lake there. we walked along the beach part. but it reminded me how much i MISS the ocean. i was born in southern california. and although we only lived there till i was 5. i feel like a 'water baby'. i feel i have the ocean in my soul. like we were separated untimely. and i miss her so much. i literally feel her powerful waves wash over me at times almost rejuvinating me and hear the powerful crash waves. and sometimes, sometimes muffled if i'm REALLY lucky on a warm summer day i can catch a drift of cool air that i Swear smells of salt as if i'm walking along a hot day and catch a drift of cool breeze coming off the sea.
i miss her.

on the other hand, i think that i don't live near because of what i've gone through these last few years. i feel that i would have succumbed to her powers and would have used her beauty for something tragic.

so what keeps my heart going is that i will visit her again. maybe when little one is old enough to remember vacations.

could you do me a favor muffled. go to the ocean some day soon and take off your socks and shoes stand in the tide and just stare out at the sea. let the salt breeze blow strong through your hair and smile, think of me smile with your teeth and put your head back with the sun shining on your face. think of how much i love her and tell her i miss her.
thank you if you can.

The sun WAS shining, slight breeze.
It was cool.
Beautiful.
I too love the sea.
SO glad you having some better days B2 :-)
