So FYI

Posted by muffled on February 6, 2008, at 13:56:44

Sorry I not been kind to others here. I dunno wassup. Just can't be here. And now I miss T this week cuz I sick and T announces only today that she not be there next week cuz she skiing. So 2 wk go by. Not her fault, I sick, if I not sick it be only 1 wk. But no warning until today. This is NOT good for ikids. I thinking and so I send T a mail I say I take break from T, cuz i don't want to do the work anyhow.
I have learned what I have learned and just goto utilize it. My T done best she can. She done lots. But I think she in a weird place in her life right now too. I don't think she can help ikids if she is unpredictable, it just won't work.I am glad she got a life. She can proly keep doing short term type work, but I don't think she in a place to try long term ikid stuff right now. I think she proly feels bad and wants to do her best and she done good by me for sure.
So she mail back, say I not goto make up mind andI say just cancel. and now Its come to me. Its ikid pissed, thats what.
I DRIVE her away.
So this babbler done T, done babble. I go now.
Thanks to all been so kind to me.
bye.
M

Muffled, it usually isn't a good idea to make decisions while you're sick, or while you're angry. Angry and sick make a very bad combination.

I got into the habit of asking my therapist at the beginning of each session if there was anything he needed to tell me. At first I even followed up more. "Are you sure there are no upcoming vacations or work trips? You aren't retiring anytime soon? etc."

Over time he's gotten so conditioned to remember that he even tells me stuff I don't need to know. Like "I'm going away overnight on Wednesday but it won't affect any of your sessions."

It's a shame that she isn't there as consistently as you need. And even more of a shame that she doesn't remember to tell you.

But just recently you were saying how helpful she's been to you. And it's not unusual for you to acknowledge her helpfulness sometimes and want to quit other times.

To honor those parts of you who find it helpful, mightn't it be better to tell her how upset you are that she didn't warn you, express your distress at not seeing her for so long, and give yourself time to think about what to do long term.

Concentrate on getting better for now. I've missed you.

Muffled, might this be why she wanted to you consult with someone else? Because she is away, or did you not do that?

Hey Muffled

Sorry to hear of the disappointment you are dealing with. I think Dinah had some good feedback. Give yourself and your ikid a chance to absorb the news and see how you can help each other get through. I think it would be helpful for you to tell your t how you felt when she returns.

I know the sorrow and the lonliness, believe me.

I wonder if this would help the ikid.....

- get some markers, felt pens, etc. & some pieces of paper

- sit down on the floor or at a table

- let your ikid choose a colour

- pick up marker etc with the hand you DON'T write with

- let ikid draw! :-)

Ikid might draw flowers, or draw a big angry face, or draw big rainclouds etc.

love, Kath

oh muffled.. i know you haven't been in a good place fora while now.. me neither:(..Don't givve up yet.. It's not time to give up yet meffled!!!
So t decided to get away and didn't give you much notice but hey, she gets to go away smetimes too..She will be back..don't give up on her cuz she needed a break to have some fun..She has been there for you over and over again.. My t doesn't even have email..wish he did.. I don't know whats up either.. I have been in a funk for a while now too and it doesn't seem to be going away..
You might be better with someone who knows DD better than she does but then you gotta get to know and trust someone else..That is so hard..
She will be there when you change your mind and decide to go back. And she won't make you feel like an idiot either..

Muffled,, you got a good heart and alot to give..don't give up on things.. Remember the dent in my head????

I can't think too good right now. but tomorrow is a new day.

Can you take extra good care of your inner kids. I know that you all have been sick lately. maybe you should go skiing just to spite yourself.

(((((innerkiddies))))))

and give Damos a ring. Maybe he can babysit your innerkids for a bit while muffled gets her stuff together?

I really, really understand where you're coming from, Muffled. But you know that you can still give and receive support here even if you aren't in therapy and even if you don't want to work on anything right now.

But I also agree with your T -- you don't have to make a decision right now. You can take it week by week and see how it goes. Okay?

>I DRIVE her away.

Since when have you driven her away? You've always mentioned how she keeps on sticking by you even when you don't understand it.

It's your decision, muffled; I hope though if you still got some issues to deal with that you will go back, or take her up on her offer to go see another doctor. Take some time and think about it.

Take care of yourself and your loved ones.

My therapist used to stay just as consistently nice with me, even when I quit. And never made me feel bad about it.

I wish she weren't gone as much as she is, but she sure has proven to be trustworthy in other ways.
