Waiting is Triggering To Me

Posted by Phillipa on November 14, 2007, at 20:44:41

Okay most of you are much younger than me. Well body is falling apart. Having surgery cystocele, rectocele and hysterectomy. Urinary testing needs to be done to. Well I want to give myself my last present a tummytuck at the same time as I'm getting old and not that much time left. Can't find a med that works and my valium does nothing anymore. But looking at this ugly fat belly that appeared in two years is depressing me and is a trigger to want to end it as I never pictured that I couldn't continue to do the things that I've always done and excercise is one. Now I have to wait probably til Febuary so the two docs if the tummytuck happens to coordinate schedules. So any ideas for a severely anxious person to cope with the waiting and no one to really talk to. Kids grown and gone and involved in their own lives. Husband is not anything of critical of what I do. I'm learning ebay posting and he takes advantage of me by having me do a post for him and then yells at me for nothing. What do I do? Phillipa ps is this selfish for wanting the tuck just to look good for remainder of life?

Go for the tummy tuck too..I'm starting to change my mind about a lot of plastic surgery procedures as I get older..waiting for surgery is not easy..especially when you suffer from anxiety..

Phillipa,
I have fibromyalgia and this limits the amount and type of exercise I can do. My doctor has sent me to the local hospital for aquatherapy which my insurance will pay for so many visits. The hospital also offers an aquatic excersise group for anyone but you have to pay for it. It's relatively inexpensve(3$-4$/class) and usually runs for 16 sessions. The classes are taught by PT's or PTA's. I have widespread pain all over my body and it is so much better to exercise in the buoyancy of the water and the 90-92 degree water temperature does wonders to relax tense muscles. The pool at my hospital also has jets at one end so at the end of therapy you can sit in front of them if you have a particularly sore spot. I know my local YMCA also has an aquacise program but I don't know any of the details. I don't know if you've tried anything like this so I wanted to mention it to you. As far as the tummy tuck, if it makes you feel good, you should do it! HUGS

Thanks to both of you as since tubal ligation at age 27 when they first started doing them didn't matter the amount of sit-ups or running I did the stomach stayed. Cut the muscles. So I've wanted one since then. I do think it will give me some self-esteem. Thanks again Phillipa

If you want a tummy tuck and it means alot to you then go for it. I would hate to think that years from now you would look back and have regrrets about not doing it..We have enough regrets, you know? If it helps you to feel better about yourself then it is worth it.

As far as waiting goes.. There are no good answers to that one. Feb is a long time away so try to put the though away for awhile..Easier said than done, I know.
Tell the husband to list his own stuff on Ebay.. Getting yelled at takes all the fun out of it..Ebay can be fun but not if someone yells at you. I have been a seller for a long time.. If you have questions let me know
take care
