Holy termination, Batman! Wish me luck today plz

Posted by gardenergirl on November 1, 2007, at 13:47:24

Yikes!
I'm off to my last session. I can't believe it's here already. I can believe that I'm still procrastinating like crazy, which ironically was my presenting problem so long ago. :\ I'm not yet finished with his gift. The flowerpot is sitting on the dining room table with three, count 'em, three fans blowing on it to dry the paint quicker. (D'oh!). Still need to print the card and tie it on with raffia. I'll try to get a picture before I leave. I have no idea what I'll do about how the plant won't be planted, what he wants to do about using extra sealant, etc. I'm sure we'll have a great laugh over that one.

I think I procrastinated on getting started on this for so long because if I actually made his gift, it made termination real. Ha, as if it's not!

Last week we talked about this last session, and I asked him about hugging. Still not sure if I will, but it's good to know it will be okay. I wish I'd posted about that session earlier. Hmmm, procrastinating again, gg? :^P

I know I'm going to bawl. At first I kept saying to myself, "If only I can get through just this one session without crying." Then I realized that's just silly. I ALWAYS cry. If I didn't at the end, something would have to be wrong with me. Still, I hate being all snotty. Bought waterproof mascara finally, though.

(Dear God, can you tell I'm anxious?)

Okay. Now on to what to wear. gotta hit the shower. Wish me luck, please!

gg

Good luck, gg!

I'm thinking about you and hoping your session is all you expect and need.

I hope you go for the hug, but if not, we've got lots here for you, too!

P.S. If you want to post about it, we can talk about your procrastination, too. You know...later... ;)

Good Luck!

Just be yourself and be honest. This is a great and terrible thing. Or a terribly great thing. Or...

I say hug him. :)

You've done good work. You might still be procrastinating but you accept it and acknowledge it. And enlightment is, after all, the point.

Let us know how it goes.

GG From one procrastinator to another, all the very best for your session, now probably achieved. Hope it went well and as well as being rather sad, it also made you feel warm and strong and cared about. You are also very special to us here. Warm hugs of congratulation for a job well done.

I was just thinking about you today, wondering when this was going to occur ... and it did. I hope you were able to tell him exacty how wonderful and special he was to you, that you went for the hug, and you feel like a new chapter of your life is just beginning.

I agree with Daisy --- that it is a terribly great day. After the tears have subsided, I hope you are able to share just a tiny bit of how it went ... when you get around to it!

oh wow. I didn't realize it was here already. I can't say much as I will trigger myself more than I already am anyway....but of course I wish you the best final session possible.

You've had quite a journey with this very important person. I don't know how to say what I feel - proud of you, worried (only a little) sad for/with you, excited maybe as an "ending" always precedes a new beginning...

(hope you hugged him...) (((((gg)))))

Good luck! And Congratulations!

A job very well done.

(I smiled about the procrastination being what you came in for. But at least now you have a better grasp on when and why you're doing it.)

I hope it went well, GG. Somehow if any of us can pull off a good termination, I think it's you.

Please post and let us know how you're doing when you can.

The more I read, the more I find I have in common with many of you: depression, anxiety, panic attacks, SI, feelings for my T, feelings of total isolation and now procrastination. You are all wonderful people have inspired me more than you will ever know since I started posting recently.
>gg
I use the name, "I NEED A HUG" to post but I am always ready, willing and able to give one to anyone who needs one, or two, or three, or........so I"m sending bunches of hugs your way right now. HUGGY

I'm back. God, I'm so tired. It went well. Weird. Good. Exactly the same. Different.

I went to Starbucks right after and then stopped at the store for ice cream on the way home.

More later.

Oh, and I hugged him. :)

:-)

If one *must* terminate, yours sounds like the best sort of termination.

(((((GG)))))) sounds scarey. I hope you got some well deserved rest last night. You did it, you actually did it. You have graduated, certainly Phd. in counceling hands on learning. Take care of yourself.

This means that you REALLY ARE a "big kid" now! (the tongue-in-cheek phrase I use when realizing I really have achieved something!)

You will stick around, yes?
