Yes, yes!! A well staffed beach house sounds like just the ticket. I'll need to be sure there are colorful umbrellas, though, b/c I'm fair skinned and need plenty of shade. I also think a nice looking pool boy would make the experience more enjoyable. Don't you think?

I'm shocked your T is going to be away so long. It shouldn't be allowed!! I may still hang out with you the whole time, though. I can leave for T appointments and then come back to my lounge chair, which I'm sure you'll have saved for me!

Guests? I'm starting to wonder if I might know these guests. Do I?

Or maybe I'm just completely confused. It's entirely possible.

Muffly, you can come to CC even if you're seeing your T. We have lots of shrubbies, but you can bring your cave if you want to.

I hope your doggie won't be too perfectly trained. I think I like them best when they still have some personality and spunk and can get just a little rowdy.

And thanks for deflecting the other vibes. I needed that.....more than you know.

Hi Jammer,
I wish I could turn my place into camp comfort. instead I will join you in spirit. Can we have a 24 hour oyster bar? I really do like oysters. and king crabs. And watercress soup.

Watermelon smoothies?

massage therapy?

lavender in my pillow?

1000 thread count sheet and a fresh linen nightgown

quiet nights to chat with friends on the beach, bringing down a cozy beach blanky for the cool breeze

no boxes

and a chocolate fountain with bananas and strawberries.

and an opportunity to get a real suntan with no UV damage, no chance of burning

and the smell of salt in the air...

sigh

palm trees?

I'm coming to Camp Comfort, too, if that's okay.

Thanks for starting it. Obviously, many of us desperately need it right now.

Who wants to start the camp fire songs?

You don't need to stay the whole time with me. I just got home from my last visit with my T before she leaves town and then the country! I'm sad and mad at her for doing this right now. I've been crying for the last 2 hours off and on. I think I will check into camp comfort tonight and get out place organized with everything fun and relaxing. I'm all for the pool boy and shade!
I think we will need to have camp comfort open till the end of August? Even though my T will be back by the end of July. I need a long vacation myself and this sounds wonderful.................
Thanks for the thread, it is just what I need tonight. I've had an emotional past few weeks and now I don't have my T to bug.
Hugs

Not only is your room ready, but I'm already there. I like to pretend I'm a celebrity, so I checked in a few days early and kept it hush-hush. :) What does your room look like? Mine has a big sleigh bed in cherry wood with a huge fluffy white down comforter (I need it because of the air conditioning) and fluffy down pillows. I have cozy PJs in my drawers and pretty sundresses for when I'm outside. Also some jeans and T-shirts for when I feel like not getting dressed.

Everyone gets a private bathroom (in case they want different), and mine has a jacuzzi tub and personal maid service that scrubs the whole bathroom every day. There are big fluffy towels and everything is marble and gold plating.

Outside my room is a little patio with my own private garden to sit in. People can visit, but it's mine. There's a pond down in front of the garden with a dock so I can watch the lake and a little beach for swimming. There are lilacs and tigerlilies in the garden, and they're always in bloom.

I have a personal chef who cooks in my kitchen. There's a giant fireplace with lots of cozy chairs so my Babble friends can come curl up by the fire with milk and cookies.

It's so nice...

We can have anything you want, Llurpsie. Even the oyster bar. I won't be partaking, though. Well, maybe if I have enough tequila. Then again, I'm not sure if there IS enough tequila for that.

I like the idea of being able to tan without risking UV damage. Can we eliminate freckling, too? I already have so many. Oh, how I'd love to have a tan.

I think Camp Comfort needs to have at least 2 distinct landscapes. A palm filled beach on one side and mountains on the other. Cold, crisp mountain air would be a nice option, IMO.

Have you checked in yet, muffly? Sorry I haven't been around and don't know. I've had a hard time coming back to this thread for some reason. It helps, but it hurts, too.

I'm just over 1/3 of the way through my T's vacation, so I guess that's good?

Why do all the T's seem to be taking of for the week of the 4th? Are they have a T convention or something??

What does your room look like? I've been trying to imagine mine, but I have little to no imagination, which poses a problem.

I'm afraid I'm not well versed in typical camp fire songs, so I might not be the best person to start. Though, I think Margaritaville might be appropriate for the beach theme that seems to have developed.

Have you caught a glimpse of the pool boy yet? Let me just tell you......HOT!! And he seems pretty open to helping with sunscreen. ;-)

Dang, sunnydays, it sounds like you got the best room in the resort!! Could you concoct one for me? My imagination seems to be broken. I'll wait in front of the fireplace, with the milk and cookies (somehow it's not so hard for me to imagine sweets), while you work on it.

How are you doing with the break?

Margaretaville certainly works for me. And I think there is a therapist convention -- now and at Christmas. What the hell are they thinking?

One year, my T announced to me that she would be out three weeks in December -- one week for a conference and two weeks for Christmas. I threw a fit -- I left her a voice mail and said, "WHO has a conference for THERAPISTS during December? What the hell are you thinking?" I actually won that argument.

I don't have a good imagination either and I'm not as funny as some of the people on here. But my room has lots of windows looking out onto the ocean. This camp is at the ocean, isn't it? I can walk out the sliding glass door and see the water -- in the moonlight, at sunrise, whenever I want. The sound of the waves lulls me to sleep every night and wakes me up in the morning.

During the day, we meet for meals and have activities like "What to Do with the Money You Saved on Therapy This Week," and "How Not to Lose Your Momentum." And my personal favorite, "What to Do if Your Therapist has Suddenly Turned into a Zombie."

Okay, I'm not being funny now, so I should just close.

Hey Jammerish
I'm doing ok. Except I need that pool boy, first I need to take a shower to get the sweat off. Then I can go hang out at the pool, go for a cool swim in the water. Then I want to drink ice cold Diet Coke for a few hours as I read or write in my journal. When I get back to my beach house, I will shower again and I want dinner ready. Grilled chicken breasts, rice, fresh veggies, and raspberry sherbet for dessert.
My T will be the furthest thing from my mind today, at least that's the goal.
Hugs,
LadyBug

Actually, I think you're being pretty darn funny!! Though, I know it must hit pretty close to home, considering the fact that your therapist HAS seemed to turn into a zombie.

I feel you about the Christmas holiday. My T regularly takes 2 weeks off, and that's the worst time of year for me. So, not only do I miss her terribly; but, I'm mad and hurt that she's home, having a wonderful time with her family (or so it seems to me) while I'm completely miserable with mine. Anyway, what did it look like to win that argument with your T?

You gave me a great idea for my room at Camp Comfort!! Once on a vacation, I stayed in an over-water bungalow. There was a window in the floor so you could see the all the sea creatures below and it was wonderful to hear the waves hitting the underside at night. I don't have it all worked out just yet, but my room definitely has those features!

You must look MUCH better in your swimsuit than I do because my food choices would be much less healthy!! (I mean....HELLO....where's the chocolate??) I guess that also means the pool boy will likely be spending much more time with YOU.

Ok, one room coming up. Your room has a king-sized bed with cozy quilts and fluffy pillows. There are giant windows that you can see from your bed, with a view of a lake and some mountains in the distance. Outside there's a rosa garden with a little cobblestone path and park benches so you can sit and enjoy the heavenly smell.

Attached to your room is a big room with your own private dining room on one side with a big crystal chandelier and your own private chef. No dress code, so you can wear pajamas if you want. And then on the other side there's a big marble fireplace and lots of comfy couches and chairs. A giant flat-screen plasma tv is on the wall over the fireplace.

And anything else you want of course. :)

Whoops, let me revise that... your bedroom has giant windows so you can see the ocean right below. You can hear the waves under the room at night. There are stairs that lead over to the rose garden (Camp Comfort's right at the water's edge, you see).

Oooh- I LOVE skiing in my T-shirt. Can I have free lessons and a fun/cute instructor who says- look at my "hips" lol?

And stationary that is preaddressed to all of my friends/relatives so that I can write chatty witty letters (gimme a brain and a nice fountain pen too)?

Books with a little steam?

Husbands who come visit and are kind, good listeners and sweep the floors and make the beds, set the tables and light candles, then magically disappear (sorry if this sounds really sexist).

A direct phone line to Dr. Bob so that we can call him impulsively and ask him "what the hey-hey are you thinking?"

Flying carpets? I've always wanted to visit Tierra del Fuego and the Arctic Circle...

A giant diamond ring. Make that two- one for MY right hand, and another for Kk's left hand. Finally I can betroth my dearest kk (esp urgent since our relationship has been consumated).

Long walks on the beach, and then sand that magically evaporates from in between my toes.

etc etc

I'm gonna need some serious klonopin to help me find the "comfort", though. While we're on the topic, klonopin that doesn't cause drowsies...

Gotta run, the sun is setting
