Making progress *SI and suicide trigger*

Posted by llrrrpp on June 30, 2006, at 21:09:54

Just tootin' my horn

It's been 3 weeks today since I last cut my arm.

It's been about 10 days since I thought about how I would kill myself.

I must be doing something right :o)

Thank you psycho-babblers,
for helping me with your kind thoughtfulness,
for allowing me to make sense of this strange place I find myself
and for letting me feel that I can make a difference

and for making me laugh and cry (and get a little grumpy sometimes too)

((((((psycho-babble folks)))))))

llrrrpp's so grateful she found you all.

It's great to not think bad thoughts, isn't it?

I hope you never have to think about suicide again. I sounds like the meds and therapy are working. Keep up the good work. :-)

It's really nice to hear posts like yours!

I like it when someone posts something like that, I know then it will help someone else (often times myself) feel better and start a chain of people inspiring and helping bring good thoughts to others.

I think too often people only post on here when they're feeling down (I too am guilty of this). People should post more often when they're feeling good like you have. It really really helps to hear others doing well, I know this first hand.

ling good like you have. It really really helps to hear others doing well, I know this first hand.

You're most welcome. Look, it's not like the anti-depressant commercials on TV. Real-life is more complicated than "before = grumpy sad face & after = playing with puppies in the sunshine"

It's still a struggle, but it's a struggle worth fighting. Every little progress deserves to be recognized. Even if we don't understand it, even if the dark parts of us want to deny it, we *can* feel better.

yours,
-ll

LL: Three weeks is amazing. God, it's so hard. You're doing such a good job. I'm glad your suicidal thoughts have been at bay too. It makes me feel hopeful to hear of good news that way.

I'm dancing to the music of your horn tootin'! ;)

happy hugs for ((((LL))))

That's so great, ll. I'm glad you told us, so we can share it with you.

It matters to acknowledge the good moments, the accomplishments, and successes, as well as the harder times.

I did that today with my T, after a couple of months of very bad fighting-- and while it's not always easy to admit that that's good, and to go for it, it affirms it to hear it from you.
