Sometimes I think I reveal too much

Something I want to work on with my t. It's due to anxiety, I know that much.

I dunno, I guess like to people here sometimes. Like I think, I can tell them personal stuff about myself becuase they're from babble, but what if they really just think I'm weird? Sometimes I think I could have actual relationships with people here and I don't want to sabatoge it by talking about too much too fast.

oh...

i don't worry about it in a babble context (though i should worry a little more about identifying information)

i worry about it more irl.

i think of babble... a little like a personal journal or something. just express whatever and appreciate that people don't have to feel obliged to read it or to respond to it or anything.

but when you are talking to people irl...

i don't suppose they feel able to ignore what i'm saying quite the same :-(

Yeah, irl is definitlety worse. And believe me, I do it there too. I trick myself into beleiving the people I talk to really care about my mental health and are understanding individuals. I've worked on it in t though and have stopped doing it. I think.

i find that talking honestly and openly on babble about whatever...

is immensely helpful to me.

i say things here i would never dream of saying to anyone irl. i guess because i think i might literally drop dead of embarrassment. but i say things here...

and what i tend to find...

is that at least one person...
and probably a whole heap more than one...
have been thinking about / worrying about similar issues.

and for me...
that is so very liberating.
like a whole weight a whole burden a whole unbearable guilty shameful secret is lifted

:-)

so i reckon...
don't stop with that.

(just maybe be a bit careful about the identifying stuff... though maybe i'm a bit paranoid there... i dunno)

Sometimes I say more here on the boards than I'm able to say to my therapist. She and I aren't yet at a point of complete trust (I'm definitely gun-shy after going through several T's in a row last year) and sometimes I feel like she's being judgemental. it's probably because I just don't know her very well yet. For whatever the reason, I feel quite safe in putting myself out there on Babble. I don't have to look anyone in the eye :-) and can blurt stuff out and no one here judges me (or if they do, they don't post to me!!!).
