vacation, Finally

Posted by B2chica on August 18, 2005, at 12:04:26

can you believe it, for the first time in 7 1/2 years of marriage my hubby and i are going on a vacation together, nothing fancy just chicago but i'm hoping that since it will just be the two of us, maybe we can bond better. maybe it's just what we need.
the only thing is we're leaving early friday morning and not coming back till monday and my T appt is monday, i HATE the thought of canceling but i can't have him hold the spot to see if i can make it or not. dang it. maybe i'll try to set a tuesday time but i'm still going twice a week so i for sure will see him next thursday.
should i bring him something back?
he even suggested some eateries to go to, he's so sweet.

guys...i am a little nervous at it just being me and my hubby, he's SO used to a close comfort crowd. we've gone on mini vaca before but they were to visit family and we always stay with them so it's never 'alone' time for us. i'm nervous. i so badly want to tell him about my csa but since one of the persons was my brother i KNOW that would ruin his relationship with him and my family so i know that i can't...i won't, but i want us to talk a lot...oh how to avoid it. i want to tell him what tears me apart inside but i just can't.

ok, sorry to go on.
i'll be back next week probably sneak onto web on tuesday night or something.
i miss you all already. dang, wish i could have gone when you all went to meet.

anyone from chicago that wants to meet us for dinner?

ok, later babble friends.
true friends.
thanks
b2c.

Devoting some time to your marriage is usually a good investment. :)

sounds like a great time!

I LOVE Chicago, I wish I lived closer, I only live 2 hours away, but it is too far for me! There are so many things to do in Chicago, what are you two planning?

it was great. i didn't think (stress) about work once, my hubby was happy most of the time. there were only two times i freaked out a little, once during the air show there were SO many little girls there about ages 4-9 wearing these ity bitty bikini's and all i could think about was that they were going to get molested or SA somehow. that lasted for about a half hour (i think till i got used to being around them).
the second nono was the first night we went to the lake front i waded in the water and thought seriously about walking all the way in until my head was under water and end it.

but i held strong and looked at the skyline (it was night) and breathed deeply. the thought went away.

interestingly enough i noticed a change in my demeanor. i seemed fairly normal when i was there and the closer we got to home the more depressive i became.
everywhere in chicago we went we walked and today i barely got out of bed.
i see T tomorrow thank goodness.

anyway. overall i give the vaca and me a B+

I give you an A. You might have had thoughts, but you tolerated them until they went away and had a good time anyway. I'd give you an A+.

is there any way you can change your home environment to be at least a little like the environment in chicago? i know you can't be on vacation ALL of the time, but what was it about chicago that made you feel better? there's no reason you can't feel this relaxed all of the time (with the occasional unavoidable stresses, of course).

just a suggestion. i'm so happy you felt so good (and i'm so proud of you for dealing with your suicidal thoughts! and i freak out about little girls in bikinis too...) and i'm glad you had a good vacation. i'm sorry the depressive feeling came back when you got home, though. :/

lotsa love,
ghost

wish i could. it's the downtown buildings, the museums, the water...the beach...the people. i was born in california and lived about 20min from the beach...i was small when we left but i still remember some of it. i think it's in my blood and i miss it so much. i live in the heartland no where near big water.
misssing it already.

(thanks for understanding about the bikini thing...i felt weird writing it).

wow. i grew up near water, too. now i'm in the midwest and it sucks. i miss it a LOT. i get homesick a LOT. not for the people, but just for the places.

i completely understand.
