Interview on Monday

Posted by fallsfall on August 23, 2005, at 19:58:05

Well, they are calling it an "informational interview". I think that means they don't really want to hire me (because I don't have the MLS degree yet).

At least I get a chance to tell them why they should hire me, and how I would compensate for the lack of the degree.

The interview is at 9. Therapy is at 11. I guess that if the interview lasts more than 1 1/2 hours, it will be worth missing part of therapy for... (Had to make the post psychological...) Or should I ask them to schedule it earlier??

Good luck to you!!

I wouldn't ask to move it. But I think it's wonderful that you consider it worth running late to therapy. :) You're getting better too.

I'm sending all the positive "hire me, hire me" job waves that I can possibly send. I'm so excited for you.

I would tell your therapist that you may be tardy, but you need to go to this interview ... no chance re-scheduling therapy?

GOOD LUCK!! I think experience beats education anyday.

They could be calling it that because they aren't planning on asking you a formal set of questions. We do that around here. It gives everyone more latitude to get to the meat of what you need to know.

I'm sure you'll be great. I agree that experience outweighs the degree...and it isn't like you don't have a few of those yourself! I'd focus on the stuff the others can't know, like staff and weird quirks and of course the patronage.

And if you are late to therapy, I'm sure he will understand. But I wouldn't move it now. Good luck!!

Good luck, falls!

Maybe they're just calling it an "informational interview" because you're the only one they are interviewing from "inside" and they want to make some sort of distinction there. I wouldn't assume it's because they don't really want to hire you.

Is there any possibility you can schedule therapy for later in the day or move your session to another day of the week?

You're going to do great! I'll be thinking of you Monday morning. And make sure you let us know how it goes.

Hugs,
Laurie
