It's spring and all, so you're probably out there planting and pruning, filling the bird feeders, scrubbing out the bird bath. And the weeding, my dear, the weeding! I for one am in full battle with the slugs - organically, of course, which entails slinking around the garden at night with a flashlight. Very time consuming, that.

But I wonder if you're ok. Maybe I missed something here, maybe you're doing exams, flying to Europe, getting married?

Hope you're fine.

I'm trying to get caught up on some stuff and slowly making progress. I miss everyone. I hope things are going well for Babblers.

ShortE, you are sweet for thinking of me. And thanks 10derheart, for letting her know.

Take care everyone,
GG

TOO FUNNY!!! I'm screaming as I roll around...

When I was younger, I would go over to my mother's after work on Mondays to take her to the Supermarket. And half the time she'd meet me at the top of the stairs, flashlight in one hand, coffee can in the other, saying, "Oh, good. You're here. Let's go HUNTING!" Mother was all in favor of genocide, and took snails quite personally...

Thanks for both a good laugh and a sweet memory.

Is there a slug board here at babble?

The scary thing about taking pleasure in slug murder is if there is karma, and there is reincarnation, then I'll come back as a slug.

Ugh.

That is so funny, my DH thinks killing spiders for me will give him bad karma! lol But I enjoy killing those nasty plant sucking slugs, I hope they enjoy there final moments of getting drunk in beer! lol It was probabaly the best moment for them! lol There is nothing I like about slugs at all!

My mother does not believe in reincarnation in this case: she swears, though, that her room in Hell will be filled with snails...

Oh, dear. This made me realize that there is something I do like about slugs: killing them.

Don't you think I need to spend a few more years in therapy exploring this???

It would only be hell if you couldn't kill them.

I think I would be safe from karma because it's not my fault if they decide to drink the beer I leave out in the garden.lol I can't help it if they are lushes! lol I didn't make them drink the stuff. HeeHee!

I have a phobia of slugs. I could never get close enough to one to do it any harm. Simply looking at them makes me want to scream. So I'm very happy to hear that you people are slaughtering as many as possible.

I almost want to suggest placing a trigger warning on threads about molluscs... the very word slug makes me feel sick!

Keep on killing them!

How about this S~----------------------g

I think why we hate slugs is because they remind us of our slimey abuser! A slug is about as bad as it gets, or slug poop. :)

My one and only symbolic dream had to do with that. I went in to my therapist and told him the dream and when I finished I saw he was trying hard not to snort with laughter as he gently pointed out the symbolism.

And I was never even abused.

Okay, I just HAD to pop in on this one! My birch tree has teeny little leaf eating worms on it. They are disgusting, and they tend to get on me, too! Of course I don't notice it til I get inside, and then I do the "worm dance" to try to make sure there are no more on me, especially in my hair! AAAAARRRGGGGGHHHHH!

Now, if this WERE a dream, last year I tried to get rid of them by cutting off all the branches I could reach that had visible worms on them. Ahem.

Anyone know of other methods?

gg

Maybe a bird feeder in the tree?

I'll give it a try..better than the symbolic alt. (nm) » Shortelise
