a T sighting

Posted by namaste on February 13, 2005, at 20:17:47

I live in a small town and i saw my T in the parking lot today. She didn't see me. I feel so lonely now.I was doing OK waiting waiting waiting to see her for my 50 minutes until I saw her today. I miss her. I just want to be talking to her, feeling safe and comforted in her office. Hearing her soft voice and have her really listening to me.This longing I speak of is so hard.

Wow, not a single person in cyberspace to help me from 8pm to midnite! May you all be free from suffering. May you have joy in your hearts. Perhaps I need to help myself and be in the real world.May I be free to be who I am.Wish me luck.Bye for now. Namaste

Oh I know the longing and it is so miserable. I'm so sorry you are stuck in it. I felt reassured seeing your post. Not an hour after I left my T Friday, she came into the restaurant where I was having lunch. I'm pretty sure we made eye contact and then her face went blank. She didn't return my smile. I've been a basketcase ever since. Why does it have to be so hard?

Sorry you didn't get replies earlier.

I have never seen my T in public, although I did see him at a couple of events at school when I knew in advance he would be there. There are times, though, when I imagine he is in the same parking lot or place where I am and I just haven't seen him yet. For some reason, it's comforting. I used to think that was kinda weird of me, but now I just think it's a way to keep the idea of him with me.

Take care,
gg

Ew. I hate t sightings. I prefer to think that they live in their office (just like Dr B lives in my computer - ha!).

I don't know what to say...

Therapist sightings are tricky for therapists if they haven't discussed it first. My therapist has discussed it with me a few times, since he keeps forgetting. I think they're encouraged not to acknowledge them in any way without previous permission, so as not to bend confidentiality.

I hate seeing my therapist outside the sacred space of the therapy office. I don't long for him, I flee. I only want to see him where he's the him I know, and I'm the me he cares about.

This is actually a huge fear of mine.... seeing T in public. We've talked about it a little, and agreed that she would say hi to me, but I am terrified of running into her! We can't figure out why either. It's gotten to the point where I go out less and less. This isn't good.

Is running into her likely?

I live in a small town too, and my house is on my T's way to work, so I have T sightings often--on the road (like the time he blew up at me at the intersection), and at events. I don't really mind seeing him around town, but what is kinda weird is seeing him with his wife. I've seen her around too, but she doesn't know who I am (at least I don't think she does.) But when I see them together at events, I just hope that my T doesn't notice me, because his wife is a T too, and I just get this feeling that she wouldn't like me. Weird, huh? Anyway, I get the impression that he's oblivious to most of what goes on around him, so I should't worry about him noticing me too much!!
