I saw a post on the newbies page abotu racing thoughts, which made me think maybe these wierd episodes I have had in the past are something...more? If anyone has had this or can help, please let me know!
Occasionally I will get the feeling that I am moving faster than the "outside world". I feel like I am moving in slow motion when I am doing normal things like brushing my teeth or walking down the street. Its like there is noise in my head, but not voices or any real sound, just a "busy" feeling...
I haven't had this in a long time, almost a year probably, and I haven't ever asked a doc about it, althoguh I am having a physical next week so maybe I will. I just started taking Effexor, my neurologist put me on it because I was so moody and irritable and cried all the time. I have Tourette's Syndrome (hence the neurologist) and depression/irritability is commonly associated with that, but maybe I have something more? One of my dad's aunts was schizophrenic...
thanks for any help!

I haven't had this but it sounds like a frightening (why do I want to say "dissociative"?) feeling. (Is dissociative even a word?) (((Ants)))

I mean, I haven't had the slowed down bodily sped up mind feeling but I do mostly have a busy, too busy in the head feeling. That's when I lose everything all the time. But therapy's really helped me with that, and I guess meds, I don't really know how to separate the two, the effects.

it is quite an odd feeling, and one I tend to forget about until it happens again. I definitely have the busy head feeling. But the really wierd thing is nothing bad ever happens during those spells-I don't drop things, lose things, or whatever. I don't think I've ever tried to have a conversation at the same time, usually I am alone but I think that when I then find myself having to talk to someone, I am fine...VERY WIERD!

Maybe you could just enjoy the feeling's effects and relax a bit. Is it causing you a problem? It doesn't sound like it, really. I think I'd tend to relax and enjoy it as long as it isn't impairing functioning. I would worry if you had destructive busy thoughts.
