I don't know Daisy I am a Scorpio and he is a Cancer too.....and man we sizzle.....any clues???? ARE YOU ZODIAC SMART???
I am not super zodiac smart he seems to be less organized that I am..I like to finish issues..I work in a logical linear path thus seek closure to topics he forgets or doesn't care if we ended last session on X or Y ..or if we ever go back. But he is so sweet so what the heck :) Cute idea and thread.

he won't tell me because he knows i'll look. i know he's either sagittarius or capricorn (he let it slip once that his birthday was in december). if i had to take a guess, i'd bet on capricorn, however at times, he acts a bit like my mother, who is sagittarius.... hmmmmmmm.. i'm still sticking with capricorn though. i wish i had a cancer though.

i'm a cancer. look it up and you will see a picture of me, promise.

I have no idea what sign my therapist or pdoc are, but I'm an Aries -- and believe me, I am an aries. It's not only my sun sign, though: about three other planets are in there, too. And, typical Aries fashion, I'm very skeptical about it all.

That said, yep, I'm an Aries in therapy, because I'm an Aries everywhere. A little larger than life, most of the time, which is really frightening when you consider my physical size. At 5'9", I'm not exactly small and meek, so expanding beyond that emotionally is a little frightening. Then again, with my Anger Issues, when my emotions get stronger, I get quieter and more intense. (A lot of people have made the mistake of thinking that I'm not very upset because I'm not yelling. Advice: don't make that mistake...)

Funny thread, and interesting.

On the other hand, there was this guy out here in CA 20 years ago who did an experiment about astrology. He did a double blind test to see if astrology worked, and it came back negative. I was at a talk he gave to the Astronomical Society of Stockton years back, and while I thought some of his methodology was flawed, it was still very interesting. He also was involved when James Randi exposed Peter Popov as a fake (faith healer who had a guy in the back reading him info from index cards filled out at the door about all the people Popov was 'healing' so that he seemed to be getting info from Beyond.) So, like I say, skeptical.

I have no idea what my T is, but I am a gemini. I always said my hair is bipolar, somedays curly, somedays straight. Of course I just cut several inches off so now it's at my chin. You would think that would bring out more curl as it lightens it up, but no... But anyway, my hair suits a twin.

So, do I act like a gemini in therapy? Not sure. If so, he tends to keep bringing me back to the aspect he wants to work with. I certainly have enough to say for two at times.

But do you act like a Cancer in Therapy? I'm thinking about you as a couple -- reverse of me and my Therapist. It is interesting to think about.

Something interesting to note about you -- you play dual roles here too - client or Therapist.

Do you find you do that a lot in life? I've read that Gemini's do that without realizing it. But it does make them empathetic.

I would expect no less from you, my friend, than skeptism.

I too am one of those who go quiet when really angry. Ask my children, they truly believe looks can kill...

Wow, I never thought about that. Yeah, I have done that a lot in the work environment in particular...boss/friend; peer/supervisor; peer/quasi-supervisor; administrative supervisor/clinical supervisee; state and federal reps for prof. orgs (which agenda am I promoting today???); therapy receiver/therapy student; etc.

I tried to print out business cards for myself recently, but it really depends on where I will be giving them out. Otherwise, it seems like I am trying to fit my resume onto a small card. Ack!

But on the plus side, I have a wonderful collection of metaphorical hats!

Thanks for the observation. That's really cool. Also, I read about my sign, and it does fit me to a "t". Wonder what my T is? And explains why my husband, who is an Aries, finds me to be quite flighty. And also why my inner child lingers at the surface so much. And why I tend to get a second wind late at night and get "chatty". I could go on and on. But it's getting late. Cool thread!

Well, I am Pisces. The description at the site you mentioned seems only about 50% accurate for me. I certainly am NOT "weak-willed and easily led". lol. Nor do I find myself "secretive and vague" in therapy.

So I would say that I'm not a typical Pisces either in "real" life or in therapy. But then, I've never really been a typical anything, ever...

I have no idea what sign he is.

I looked at that page. I am also a pisces, but very typical. Dreamy, uncommunicative, secretive blah blah blah. The signs scare me when they are accurate. My T. is gemini She also fits it. She is very talkative as I have said and often I listen to her for a whole session. terrics

Emotional and loving
Intuitive and imaginative
Shrewd and cautious
Protective and sympathetic
Changeable and moody
Overemotional and touchy
Clinging and unable to let go

am i a cancer in therapy? what do you think? i care more about nurturing him than i do about getting better. i tip-toe around his feelings all the time. for crying out loud, i'm sending him a thank you card after he canceled my session. yes, i'm a cancer in therapy as well. i bring him food. i tell him what i think he wants to hear. i give him "ego boosters" all the time. and i try to entertain him. however, i also have the "bad" (are they really that bad???) traits. i'm moody. i'm clingy. i'm touchy. and even in therapy. daisy, i'm glad you started this thread. but, i want to know, who out there is a cancer????? i want to know more cancers!!! i rather like them, you know! and i'm curious to know about your realtionship with your therapist, as i think i like him :)
(and you too my dear, as i like capricorns a whole lot)

Karen,
I can see why we get along if Capricorn and Cancer compliment each other...

I don't know what to tell you about my relationship with my Therapist that you haven't already heard. He's very gentle and yet gets firm and serious at all the right times. Today was an "easy" session -- he pushed a little but not too much and he teased me a lot. I like when we laugh together.

He would never let YOU take care of HIM. So maybe a Cancer/Cancer match would be a good thing for you. I'm not sure I want to share though...

:)

I wonder if this is weird:

I was never really into astrology until a THERAPIST brought it all into our sessions and made a huge deal about my being a libra with a scorpio moon. (I guess taht was why she asked for birthdates on her intake sheets)

She was a cancer with a taurus moon (she told me all about herself all of the time---more messed up than I was at the time, I think) We clashed. I wound up feeling that I was %&**ed for life with this sun/moon relationship, and oddly enough, that has stuck! How can one live when scorpio is always trying to kill of libra?

Another good site is www.astrology.com
You can get a free chart and a bit of overly simplistic interpretation. The REALLY good stuff, they promise, is the stuff you pay for! But having your own chart wheel is a good place to start.

In a way, I wish I could let it all go, because I think it does more harm than good for me, but I can't help thinking that if I knew MORE it might be more beneficial - A little knowledge being a dangerous thing and so forth...

I wonder how many therapists use astrology as paradigms the way Jung apparently did?

Anyone else have a shrink who does this openly?

Diane

"Heaven Knows What" by Grant Lewi
sun in Libra Moon in Scorpio
Independence of mind and action, thought and expression, are the outstanding traits of your nature. You are quick mentally, with a penetrating and absorbing curiosity, so that you are a ready student, precocious and facile. You make rapid strides in the world and are stamped with a keen ambition the following of which is an intimate need with you. You are interested in broad, sweeping matters--in ideas, philosophies, the arts and sciences--and for this reason are more likely to select a professional or artistic than a business career.

*Do you want to hear any more?
Is this of interest?
I will share more if you want to.

Jai, that is so kind of you to have written that from your book. Of course I am very interested...It might be helpful in breaking this belief that by birth date, time and place I am
f---ed!

I have a book - well a few - and one of them speaks of moon placements that are "difficult". I remember that scorpio and capricorn moons were considered bad moon placements, but I have never understood why.
I imagine that everyone on this board is not interested in our rather personal interchange, so I will leave my email address and thank you for looking that up. Perhpaps I can be of help with interpretations from some of my books as well. I certainly would welcome an opportunity to someday really study astrology!

my email is dielotosblume1@yahoo.com

Thank you again,

I believe that a lot of that is true for me when I am not in a depressed state! I bring this up because of the thread about dx defining our identity.

And I did choose a career in the arts...part of the problem now is that said career seems not to have chosen me :-( And that makes it tough on the inherently ambitious part of me

This is the end of the thread.
