Hi, I'm new here, and I hope you don't mind my joining the conversation.

I'm a female and have a male Pdoc/T.

I would never have thought to tell my doc "I love you"...but I guess i can see a client telling their therapist that.

My doc and I have seen eachother for over two years and are close - but I think " I love you" would be somewhat inappropriate.

I will have to leave him soon, am moving to another state...I'll probably try to hug him and thank him, but I don't see any " I love you" s coming out of either of our mouths;)

Just my feelings with my doctor. No offense to anyone.

Hi Delphi68; welcome... I am new myself (I just joined on Thursday or Friday).

I would not say "I love you" to my psychologist, either, because I think it would be inappropriate and maybe freak him out, but I do feel like I love him. What about you? Do you not love him, or do you love him and just not feel comfortable saying so? I would imagine that after seeing him for two years, you could be pretty open with him, but maybe I'm wrong. I've been seeing mine since late November, except for a 5-week break in December and January. I am moving out of state in May, so I will have to leave him then.

This is sort of a silly question, but I'm jsut wondering...

Does anyone else have a song that makes you think of your therapist? Mine is "Leaving on a Jet Plane." (The reason is mostly because I heard it on the radio while I was on my way to drive past his apartment complex.)

Hmmmm, in the Julia Roberts movie "Sleeping with the Enemy," I remember some *horrifically dismal and disheartening classical music that her **psycho husband was always playing....I think the composer's name was Berlioz....If you've heard it or ever do hear it, that's the theme music I would put behind my own recent experience with psychoanalysis. ;- )

There is a song from the early 60's, but I'm not sure exactly what the words are. It goes something like:

Julie, Julie, Julie do you love me?
Julie, Julie, Julie do you care?
Julie, Julie are you thinkin' of me?
Julie, Julie will you still be there?

So I substituted my therapist's name for the "Julie"s. I suppose if her name had been Julie, that would have been pretty cool!

Well, when I hear that Dar Williams song about therapy (What Do You Hear In These Sounds), I always think about my therapy, obviously. Although, not necessarily my therapist, especially since I've recently changed to a new one and am in attachment limbo.

Aww... I always have a song for every guy I get a really bad, long-term crush on. I still get all sentimental about this one Spice Girls song.

Great question. Mine is Billy Joel's "And So It Goes" - the words are lovely and so appropriate, the last lines are "And I will share this room with you, and you can have this heart to break."

I also have a Billy Joel song, about therapy, not my Therapist:
Everybody Has A Dream

While in these days of quiet desperation
As i wander through the world in which i live
I search everywhere for some new inspiration
But it's more than cold reality can give
If i need a cause for celebration
Or a comfort i can use to ease my mind
I rely on my imagination
And i dream of an imaginary time

If i believe in all the words i'm saying
And if a word from you can bring a better day
Then all i have are these games that i've been playing
To keep my hope from crumbling away
So let me lie and let me go on sleeping
And i will lose myself in palaces of sand
And all the fantasies that i have been keeping
Will make the empty hours easier to stand

"Things I'll Never Say"
I’m tugging at my hair
I’m pulling at my clothes
I’m trying to keep my cool
I know it shows
I’m staring at my feet
My checks are turning red
I’m searching for the words inside my head

[pre-Chorus]
(Cause) I’m feeling nervous
Trying to be so perfect
Cause I know you’re worth it
You’re worth it
Yeah

[Chorus]
If I could say what I want to say
I'd say I wanna blow you... away
Be with you every night
Am I squeezing you too tight
If I could say what I want to see
I want to see you go down
On one knee
Marry me today
Yes, I’m wishing my life away
With these things I’ll never say

It don’t do me any good
It’s just a waste of time
What use is it to you
What’s on my mind
If ain’t coming out
We’re not going anywhere
So why can’t I just tell you that I care

[pre-Chorus]

[Chorus]

What’s wrong with my tongue
These words keep slipping away
I stutter, I stumble
Like I’ve got nothing to say

[pre-Chorus]

Yes I’m wishing my life away with these things I’ll never say
If I could say what I want to say
I'd say I wanna blow you...away
Be with you every night
Am I squeezing you too tight
If I could say what I want to see
I want to see you go down
On one knee
Marry me today
Yes, I’m wishing my life away
With these things I’ll never say
These things I’ll never say

For all us stalkers out there, "Melanie" by Weird Al is a great song. :) Just replace "Melanie" with your therapist's name!

chorus: Me-he-he-helanie,
What can the problem be?
Sweet Me-he-he-he-helanie,
Why won't you go out with me?

She lived across the street
on the fifteenth floor of the Gilmore building.
I saw her in the shower
reaching for some soap.
I knew she had to be the girl for me,
and to think I probably never
would have found her,
If I hadn't bought that telescope.

(chorus)

I just can't understand it.
Why won't you return my phone calls?
Are you still mad
I gave a Mohawk to your cat?
If you'd just say the word,
I'm certain that our love would last forever
and ever,
Or are you too dumb to realize that?

(chorus)

How can you ignore me,
when you know that I can't live without you?
I have to go through your garbage
just to learn more about you.
Melanie,
Oh sweet Me-he-he-helanie,
Why won't you go out with me?

You weren't impressed when I
tattooed your name across my forehead.
You wouldn't listen
when I promised to be true.
I couldn't stand it,
so I jumped out from the sixteenth story window,
right above you.
Now I may be dead but I still love you.

(chorus repeated 5 times)

LMFAO AT THE STALKING SONG LONELYGIRL..WAY CUTE

Here is a romantic song I heard just the other night ..change a few words you know friend for clinet etc,,,girl for man....sooo T-A-LICIOUS

You Don't Know Me Lyrics
Artist(Band):Harry Connick, Jr.

You Don't Know Me Lyrics

You give your hand to me
Then you say hello
And I can hardly speak
My heart is beating so
And anyone can tell
You think you know me well
But you don't know me
Ooh no
You don't know the one
Who dreams of you at night
And longs to kiss your lips
Longs to hold you tight
I'm just a friend
That's all I've ever been
Cause you don't know me

For I never knew the art of making love
Though my heart aches with love for you
Afraid and shy I let my chance go by
The chance that you might love me too

You give your hand to me
Then you say goodbye
I watch you walk away beside the lucky guy
You'll never never know
The one who loves you so
Well you don't know me

Oh I never knew the art of making love
Though my heart aches with love for you
Afraid and shy I let my chance go by
The chance that you might love me too

You give your hand to me
Ten you say goodbye
I watch you walk away beside the lucky guy
Oh you will never know The one who loves you so
Cause you don't know me
Oh no you don't know me
Oohh...you don't know me

Hi Fallen,

Pirate radio intercepting the airwaves again! Hope this violates nothing and am being cryptic in pursuit of that.... Wanted to say that I'm pretty sure what you were worried about did not come from what you think. I believe it came from another place, where (as isn't uncommon), taking a break from here was discussed. You only mentioned that it's hard sometimes to see where the areas delineate -- nothing bad in that! You are always kind and helpful to people so I just didn't want you to consider that. That's all, we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming! : )

Ah, I know that song... "Your picture on my wall, it reminds me that it's not so bad, it's not so bad." If only I had a picture of him to put on my wall!!! Actually, I like it best on the Eminem song Stan, with the rain in the background.

My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why I
Got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window,
And I can't see at all
And even if I could it'd all be grey
But your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it's not so bad
It's not so bad

I drank too much last night, got bills to pay
My head just feels in pain
I missed the bus and there'll be hell today
I'm late for work again
And even if I'm there, they'll all imply
That I might not last the day
And then you call me and it's not so bad
It's not so bad

And I want to thank you
For giving me the best day of my life
Oh, just to be with you
Is having the best day of my life

Push the door,I'm home at last
And I'm soaking through and through
Then you handed me a towel
And all I see is you
And even if my house falls down now
I wouldn't have a clue
Because you're near me

And I want to thank you
For giving me the best day of my life
Oh, just to be with you
Is having the best day of my life
