Out of Personality Tests!?

Posted by beardedlady on June 12, 2002, at 12:30:17

Well, I was supposed to learn whether I've got something wrong or I'm just a curmudgeon, and my shrink ran out of tests and had to order more! Can you believe it?

I say that jokingly because I went in last year for personality testing hoping to find out why on earth I do the things I do. Again, an awfully large question to answer. And the tests didn't tell me all that much I didn't know. Sigh.

But I am fascinated by the entire idea of personality testing. I took the MMPI and the Rorschach (sp?). I found the MMPI so fascinating that I found out everything I could about the test, so that my husband jokes I could do my doctoral thesis on it. I read college texts and bought books on it too (after I took the test of course). I wasn't about to let a test tell me what my personality was without finding out why. I think that tells me more about my personality than the test did. :)

Which tests are you scheduled to take, if you don't mind my asking?

Psychometric testing is used by big companies ..but primarily by the military to determine if youre "wired" up for understanding rules ..orders...

its very simple but because the newer ones are based on understanding your Nuerology and not on psychology...(come back Lost boy !!) the results are 100% proof of what you are..and always will be..(although taking drugs will affect your assertiveness ratings) until genetic region switching drugs get developed..

I had one done online and it was abolutely great...not only did it tell me what I already knew about myself in a more complex way ... it is very mistake proof..in that you can make all sorts of erronoeus anwers and the results of the loop catch this and determine facets about you depending on the manner in which you answered the questions..

that is its bullet proof...absolutely rock solid..you would need to understand the structure of the programs subroutines to try and falsify a result...

I would say definetely only go for testing on systems designed to understand you based on your neurological region structure and neurotransmitter profile.

Omega Man where on the web did you take the test? I could go looking but I would rather hear of one that some one has taken and likes than get a poorly done test. The internet is full of so much crap.
Thanks,
Winter
