I met this man, an American, in a cafe in Cusco where he was leaving some stuff.

He might be from Austin, which sounds like a cool place. Inti Raymi is on at the end of the month, the 24th perhaps.

One of the directors is from your city in Peru. Well, the head of the organzation has his hands filled, facing the dark forces of industry. Seems full of energy and optimism.
A friend of mine was thinking of relocating to Peru with her 8 year old daughter and study herbs and indigenous ways.
Petrol in bags? In the U.S. some call it huffing. That is any substance in a bag.

Yes, Peruvian herbs, most interesting.
I became aware that in the local market there is a stand selling ayahuasca and San Pedro, but I felt old and just bought maca instead. But it lifts my spirits to be away from sliced white country.

I think that is in Peru, though I have not seen anything like that. But I have spent time in the ruins around the Sacred Valley.

In Australia the highest mountain is around 6,000ft, and Cusco is at perhaps 11,000ft, and the mountains around are higher.
I went with a friend climbing around the archeological zone....it took hours to get to the top, but it is a thing I have really enjoyed....going for walks and chewing coca with friends.
No double blind studies of chewing coca vs other antidepressants, I'll bet.

You know I think the cocoa leaves sound great. But will I ever get to try them. I'd have to lobby hard to get the family to consider Peru as a vacation destination. Maybe when my son is older. But then, I'll be older :)

My son was served sweetened condensed milk on bread for breakfast at Ha Long Bay in Viet Nam. Then there was the 4 hour bus ride back to Ha Noi. He walked off the bus and politely and immediately vomited. I thought 'There's character for you'. After that the kids said 'No more poor countries'.

I was reading about Arguedas again, perhaps a connection with Liberation Theology, or perhaps not, and I came across this which resonated with me and is true from my experience.
