Isn't that normal behaviour in your parts?

I'd hate to think we were behind the times.

I also took notice of that statement!!!!

We're never left out when it comes to sheer sexual ridiculousness!!!! Remember when the Prez tried to "fondle" the German head of state lady?
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Buswell needs to be told that there is a rule over here in the blues world that us ordinary folks take to heart.....(Etta James or Irma Thomas) "it ain't what you do, it's who you let see you do it"......

I just thought of something else about us. I watch a "legal" show on ABC called "Boston Legal" with a variety of prety good actors in it.

Sniffing a chair seems like a Denny Crane moment to me!

Hey, I've watched Boston Legal.

I was kinda hoping that Buswell would really put his foot in it by saying something like......
'Would you be reacting like this if it was a man's chair we were talking about.
I thought we'd got over political correctness.'

The WA Liberals have nothing on the NSW ALP though.
Here, they really know how to recycle the cash.

really, i don't know if he could have made his statement to the press any more awkward. he acted like a real sap.

i watched it on a news website and what was the whispering to the person next to him? for a moment, i thought he must be channelling Bush.

Definately a sap, and therefore a good time to change the subject to something I thought you might like.

From "Requiem for the East" by Andrei Makine.....

'Our age, I thought, is nothing more than a monstrous organism that digests gold, oil, politics and wars, and secretes pleasures for some, death for others. A gigantic stomach that churns up and blends together things that, in our shame and hypocrisy, we keep separate.'

On Boston Legal this week, the James Spader character really nailed the quote on the head. He talked about how both parties operate the same and it is all about the oil, wars, politics, etc.
It was really something to see that on primetime television.

The week before it was about The Supreme Court.

I am going to find the Makine book, if I can, and read it. I will also suggest it to the Texas MoveOn.org people.

Thanks for the quote...

I am sick to death of all of the race towards the White House. Knowing that nothing will change is very discouraging for me. I used to believe in the system. When I was a kid..:-)

I see politics like sailing a big shipping liner. You can't expect too much too quickly, but give a decade and you can notice the difference.

One difference perhaps between us and you is that you have this tradition of independant action.
This can be good (say philanthropy) but really rich rightwing people on the loose can do all sorts of stuff.

that plays out here on a daily basis in the campaign. and that is just what we see.....can you imagine the secrets that those people hold close to their chests?

I read that GWB has a resting pulse rate of 41 or something. Olympic standard anyway. Must be that trail bike riding. He'll outlast all of us.

I don't know what happened.

Think.

Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, GHW Bush, Clinton, GW Bush.

Something happened, but what?

Anyway, regardless, one gets the feeling that everyone is waiting for it to be over.

So I wonder, why are they waiting?

Could it be that they don't expect very much at all these days?
Are they waiting for the sh*t (something worse down the pipeline?) to hit the fan?

I heard on the news last night that some people blew up an oil thingo in the Niger delta.

This was a reasonable article about the election. Don Watson was Paul Keating's speech writer.

Psalm 137

Could it have been this??

Remember the children of Edom, O Lord, in the day of Jerusalem: how they said, Down with it, even to the ground.

O daughter of Babylon, wasted with misery: Yea, happy shall he be that rewardeth thee, as thou hast served us.

Blessed shall be he that taketh thy children: and throweth them against the stones.

Maybe I have the wrong Psalm?

'Throweth them against the stones' doesn't sound very civil.

This is too multi-layered for this early in the morning.....but, I'll try.

I'm guessing that GWB feels blessed and I seriously doubt that the man will give him a PBC...(he did cut our CHIP program to bits and said that if children were sick, take 'em to ER.

I'm afraid that almost everyone I talk to feels like they "been thrown against the stones" but if that is the case, why is JMC doing so well..because it won't just be stones this time around, it will be like lemmings off off the proverbial cliffs.

Please be sensitive to the feelings of others (such as supporters of GWB).

But please don't take this personally, either, this doesn't mean I don't like you or think you're a bad person.

I encourage anyone who has questions about this or about posting policies in general, or is interested in alternative ways of expressing themselves, to see the FAQ:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#enforce

Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration. They, as well as replies to the above post, should of course themselves be civil.

Thanks,

Bob

I find his relationship to God more interesting than his brain activity.

would that relationship would have more to do with his soul?

>would that relationship would have more to do with his soul?

That's the sort of thing I'm curious about.

And about the certainty he says this relationship has given him.

There's a saying...
'God made man in His image and we have been returning the compliment ever since.'

I read some young Republicans saying that Jesus would have been in favour of the free market and would have been a great sportsman, so I am interested to see how far variations such as these might travel.

http://lieberman.senate.gov/newsroom/release.cfm?id=279110

"And in 1844, a distinguished Christian professor of Hebrew at New York University became a national leader in the ingathering of Zionists. Jewish statehood, he wrote, would benefit all of mankind, forming a "link of communication" between humanity and God.

That distinguished professor, as you may know, happened to share a name with one of his distinguished descendants, who also happens to be a great Christian Zionist today. The name: George Bush."

It is one of the most interesting press releases I have ever seen.

Wow! I just rolled out of bed and am trying to wrap my mind around what our little leperchaun said in his speech to The Christians United for Isarel.

I am sitting here, without coffee, shaking my head and thinking about calling my 81 year old sister to share this with her.

Let me get some coffee and wake up and I'll come back to this.

Hagee.....makes my eyes hurt.
