Horny Governors

Posted by fayeroe on March 21, 2008, at 13:27:33

Jon Stewart has a new feature that he will highlight every night.

I believe that it is oneupmanship now....prostitutes, friends, threesomes....Let's hold our breath and see which one has a press conference next.

I've been on the internet too long today! :-)

if only..

i knew some congressmen, presidents, senators, ect... hell, i'd even wash the dress afterwards!

at some point i start to wonder though, 'how much public information is too much?' you know, they've been going at it for quite a while (ahem, mister kennedy). just now, it's common knowledge that so many politicians have somethign you can catch. i'm starting to feel i don't want to know anymore.

give a politician a break. everyone needs some lovin, even horny old governors :)

i was referring to being on the internet too much to do because i stumbled across that. i'm really sick of knowing what politicians do. especially the details.

who cares how many bodies were in the bed, or on the floor, anyway? photos of carpet burns will only go so far. :-)

Even now, you have some way to go.

Why is it the English do sex scandals so well?

(Although US scandals involving fundamentalist preachers are the exception. It's what I need on a morning like this. A good article on Oral Roberts.)

Who was that UK politician who was discovered in fishnet stockings with an amyl laced orange in his mouth?

We have the scandals here but they lack vitality.

There you go, reminding me that Oral Roberts and I are both from Oklahoma! My face is beet red! (not really, i just said that for effect)

I remember watching t.v. about 35 years ago and a television crew was driving up to Oral's gated and fenced home and Oral came speeding out in his Mercedes....he jumped from his car and starting hitting the camera man and reporter!!!

I also was in a piano bar in Dallas (posh hotel) and an evangelist walked in and I recognized him from a magazine that my mother received because she donated to his father's cause. I walked over and whispered into his ear, "my mother would s*** if she knew you were in here!"....He turned ghostly pale and almost ran out of the place. Not only was he staying in a very expensive place, he was in the BAR.....

I love doing stuff like that. I wish that I had more opportunities. :-) I always wear a Vera Wang dress when I confront ministers and politicians. Want me to confront anyone?

I would say that my favourite U.K. one is when Charles told Camilla that he wished he was "in her knickers".....

Orthanc? » fayeroe

It's a long time ago, but I liked it when Oral Roberts was told by God that He needed a million dollars and that Oral Roberts should retire to his tower until the cash came in.

So, I've wondered for decades about Oral Roberts's tower.
I kind of imagine a dusty version of Orthanc, Saruman's tower, from The Lord of the Rings.

There are 9,660 of Orthanc.

Here is one of them

There's a thesis topic......

The Lord of the Rings, conservatism, nationalism and decline.

According to news reports here, his wife had many "male friends" and Roberts spent hundreds of thousands on horses for the daughter. She and friends went on a senior trip to the Bahamas on the school jet.........on and on and on.........

I guess Gilda Radner would say, "it's always something"........

They also have a huge praying hands thingy at ORU.

I'll tell you this, they have a darned good basketball team almost every year!

In a slow return to sanity (?), I came back here and was struck by this evocative name and its relevance to American culture.
There is a prominent politician whom I have long thought resembled not Orthanc's ruler, but his grovelling assistant, Grima Wormtongue.
Without identifying him (her?), we can reflect on why the type is a natural for politics.

there's a natural association
