Wellbutrin anger/rage problems

Posted by islandangel on December 19, 2004, at 22:07:11

Hello: I've appreciated this website for so long! Now it's time for me to ask for help.
I'm in my 30's. I've been on Wellbutrin XL 300mg for about 3 months now. In the beginning, the first few weeks I was able to wake up refreshed and energized. It helped cool my colitis and even made my constant fatigue subside. I've always felt rundown and tired and Wellbutrin made that go away! Now at 6 weeks I'm slowing down again. My appetite has also picked up. But the biggest concern is that I've had more than a few raging moments lately. Even towards my 9 year old step daughter. I easily fly off the handle and yell, scream and rage at things in a way that I normally wouldn't do. I often wake up angry lately. Should I cut back to 150mg? Should I stick with it and see if the rage will pass? I feel so guilty after I "go off". I can't continue blowing up like this. Cutback, quit or stick it out?
I appreciate you all!
Thanks

I welcome you to Babble.
I have heard such wonderful things about Wellbutrin.
I would guess that a chat with your Pdoc might help.
A visit to our med. board might help as well.
Please make yourself at home here and check out all the different boards.
this is an interesting and intelligent group.
I hope this helps.

Anything to do with PMS / hormonal imbalance on top of the depression and other problems????? A lot of women I've spoken to, on Wellbutrin (sp??) and other anti-depressant medication tell me they suffer severe PMS and go a bit mad and fly off the handle ....and some of them even tell me that certain supplements help?? Have you spoken to your doc???

Hugs
SG
