Do you take anti-inflammatory meds for your knee? (or whatever joint you have pain in, I can't remember). Common meds such as diclofenac, naproxen and ibuprofen can sometimes impair kidney function. The dose may need to be adjusted.

I hope it's nothing serious Manic. If your cholesterol has been elevated for some time now, he may want to put you on a med that helps. Let us know how your appointment turns out..

i have been on them a while now thanks (nm)

"because i like to eat what i want so f*** it,Silly i no but if i was to deny what food i like that would kill me on its own"

Well, no. Putting the right stuff in the grocery cart is going to be a major part of saving you, not killing you.

What about the guy who's been drinking for 20 years and stops? The sex addict, the pot addict, the gambler, whatever. Not even an addict, just someone who indulges in what they instinctively know is not the best move? Food is no different. If those people can take control of their demons, anyone can certainly take care of their grocery cart.

The foundation and often times the major factor of healing any disease...emotional and physical...is proper choice of what goes in the body. Taste buds might object, screw them. They're just the devils trying to kill you. I read in a book and have since proven myself that within about a 3 month time period of dramatically changing food choices, the taste buds change...they no longer agree with or want the foods they used to crave...they instead crave the new stuff.

Life is all about self control. Without it, chaos at every turn. My taste buds are not the boss of me. I am the boss of them.

The grocery store will play a bigger role in healing than the doctor's office will.

IMO

Hi Manic,

Although the maximum recommended dose of ibuprofen (in the UK) is 2400mg per day in three to four divided doses, it's best to avoid taking more than 1200mg on a long term basis - where possible. Do you take more than this? When bought OTC, the packet will recommend a maximum of 1200mg (as 200-400mg up to three times a day). Higher doses are prescription only because ibuprofen is less safe at high doses.

That's probably what's reducing your kidney function. If low doses don't work, ask your doc for an alternative.

Trying to control my arthritis with ibuprofen would do my gut lining in.

I take boswellia mainly. Fish oil is good. Glucosamine. Curcumin. That sort of stuff.
