Didn't know her but looked in achieves and seems she posted on social the day before. Sounded like was in a lot of pain and not a lot of responses as guess you had to know her to know what she meant. Anyone write to the boyfriend? love Phillipa

I am appalled? Angry? speechless? feeling things I can't describe? after
reading what you've posted here.
Slinky would have been kinder about it.
I know I should ignore but I can't.

please oh please oh freakin please let it be the last.

please let our voices be heard about scary/deadly side effects and less than adequate treatment in our countries (usa and uk). each loss is heartbreaking in how easily it could be *any* of us at one time or another.

two of those who have suicided helped through our darkest hours....why didn't they pull through too? = ( there are no answers to that question.

please fight on for better treatment, better meds, better everything as these diseases have robbed all of us out of so much life has to offer....we all deserve better. we all deserve better than adequate treatment. these names of those who've left us are imprinted on the heart and it stirs up rightous indignation about treatment options and why in blazes there isn't more outrage about lack of effective treatment for more of us?!

yes AbbieNormal please oh please let this be the last here in this community (and let's work for global awareness of this issue as well so as not to lose another soul to mental illness/disease/disorder)

((AbNorm)) & ((all of us who've felt loss))

I am torn between sadness and outrage and guilt for being torn. No one should be torn from us, not another single person.

I will always remember her charming posts to "Bobbykins." Slinky was a true wit and muse and I hope she has found peace from the demons that haunted her.

Rest in Peace "Slinkykins."

this sucks.

i'm trying to write something, but i can't right now. it doesn't seem possible right now, to write anythig fitting of her.

i'll think of something in a few days. but i do know how very in love with me she was. and how dearly missed she'll be.

i specifically bought mango juice for my duckie a while back, just so he could taste mangoes. he loved them. thanks slinky doll. you're something.

What terrible, terrible news.

Sad about Slinky. (poss. suicide trigger)

Posted by Tabitha on June 5, 2008, at 22:36:13

Have barely taken it in. All I can think is "it only takes one sad moment". I hate suicide. Sounds trite, but how awful that people are so fragile. I suppose they can also just be hit by a bus, but I hate suicide in particular. It seems like a victory of hopelessness. She had hope lately, seemed happy to be dating.

Such a cruel contrast, the person we see is so charming, so lovable, so worthy of happiness. But we know she suffered with the depression, anxiety, whatever were her personal symptoms. The mind turns on itself. Defective brain, I suppose. Cruel reality.

I'm babbling. I just feel sad. May she rest.

Please be sensitive to the feelings of others even if this is a difficult time for you. A supportive environment is especially valuable when a community is mourning a loss.

But please don't take this personally, this doesn't mean I don't like you or think you're a bad person.

For more information about posting policies, please see the FAQ:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#enforce

Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration. They, as well as replies to the above posts, should of course themselves be civil.

Thanks,

Bob

or overgeneralize Dr. Bob.
I am sensitive to the feelings of others.. Perhaps you didn't think I was in this particular
post, hardly indicitive of my personality.
There are many ways to be insensitive.

Okay...maybe this belongs on the religion board, but I don't think so. This is theology mixed with the existential grief. Please don't get mad at me, or think I am putting anyone down or forcing my opinion on others. I've converted to Christianity not to 'belong' to anything, not to preach, but as part of the existential burning light. My favourite version of the Scriptures is Eugene Peterson's everyday language translation.

The Bible has many passages of times when people do get very angry at God (or whom you worship), as I struggle too.
Psalm 44 is a good example of that anger and struggle I get from many of you on here, in your grief and despair:

23-26 Get up, God! Are you going to sleep all day?
Wake up! Don't you care what happens to us?
Why do you bury your face in the pillow?
Why pretend things are just fine with us?
And here we areflat on our faces in the dirt,
held down with a boot on our necks.
Get up and come to our rescue.
If you love us so much, Help us!
--
9-12 But now you've walked off and left us,
you've disgraced us and won't fight for us.
You made us turn tail and run;
those who hate us have cleaned us out.
You delivered us as sheep to the butcher,
you scattered us to the four winds.
You sold your people at a discount
you made nothing on the sale.

I'm not actually angry at God, more at my own inability to reach out in any tangible way to someone who seems to have been suffering. I'm angry at my own futility. I don't think that God was paying much attention.

like a trapped butterfly I bounce against the walls of reality.
why can I still feel her?

oh I know, just let it go...
how do I do that?
the walls of reality fall away and we are all one?
well I guess time will dull my reaction.
