I am unsure as to what you are wanting to mean here. If you could post answers to the following, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.
A. Which God was your mother referring to, if you know?
B. What is a med, according to your mother, if you know?
C. What was the basis, if you know, that your mother used to substantiate any claim concerning what is in question here?
D. other answers related to the above if needed

How many are there?

My mother says the same thing. I guess it is a matter of faith (and perhaps gratitude).

Friends,
If you are considering posting in this thread or parallel threads, I am requesting that you be aquainted with thefollowing so that in our discussion, if any, there could be a better understanding of what one God says about mind-altering drugs.
I can not post the link to the article , but for those that want to have the educational aspects known to them concerning what I would like for posters here to know, one could find the article by:
A. bring up google
B. type in the search box, [gncb,psycho-sorcery]
If more than one comes up, there is a tel number that has the last 4 numbers,2075

What one God says? There is only one God. Everyone may have different interpretations of the Bible or different thoughts on what God believes we should be doing. How does anyone really know?

I googled what you wrote and nothing came up.

You don't know what God really wants us to do when it comes to medication, no one does.

Are you against taking medications like penicillin and other medications that can save people's lives or slow down the progression of debilitating diseases?

And can you please give me a clear response and not present it in a question answer format?

O.K., I found it. Seriously though, it really is up to how you interpret sorcery. If you consider psycho-pharmaceuticals sorcery, then you consider all medicine, herbal or synthetic, sorcery.

And again, please give me a clearly written response.

Lou's response...
It is written here as above. Now I have not ever heard of the concept of [owning the thread] being a part of the TOS here. Now if the innitator of the thread makes the request that only particular types of posts be posted, that could be a different situation, for here there is not such a request by the innitiator of the thread.
But what good could come from that? If the forum's goals are for support, suport is not the same as {reinforcment}. In fact, let's say that a member starts a thread about wanting to take two drugs tha are listd as when they are taken together they could cause death. Now if {owning the thread} was part of the tOS here, could the person die if all the posts reinforced the innitiator of the thread to take the two drugs together?
You see, the TOS here contains that different points of view are encouraged. Discussion is what the forum is for, and discussion could have more than one point of view.
In the simple terms, let's say that a meber innitiates a thread that he/she says that the earth is flat. Does that mean that members can not post otherwise? Now if the poster in this case posts that they only want posts that reinforce that he earth is flat, then I will not post oterwise.
But you see here, there is a life at stake on the outcome wheras there is not that in the flat-earth example. The poster posted that he has a relationship with a god. I would like to find out which god, then I could post accordingly, for the poster's handle is Christ_empowerd which in hid previous posts presented a foundation for my posts here so that I could offer support andeducation. The education could be helpful and supportive if the poster so wants. If not, the poster does not have to do the search and could ignore my request.
There is much more to this but I am trying to save lives here and the poster in question has opened the door for discussion. That discussion could be reinforcing or not, but the door has been opened and all can walk through, for support includes different points of view because they are encouraged here.

first of all, you get what I mean; second of all, true the door is open but you're standing there demanding everyone considering posting to read/watch/... something that you propose.

you know the family guy episode where peter gets some sort of emergency-first aid-licence and he tries to "save" people who aren't actually dying? I don't see how you are saving anyone here..
you keep making the same points over and over and over, and I don't understand that, and I find it somewhat condescendant like we were little kids who STILL didn't get the lesson..

I thought there was something in the rules here about not posting links to websites that were considered uncivil. What you (Lou) have done is essentially the same as posting a link. So even if nothing else is a problem, your posting so much detailed information about how to access the website you are recommending is.

I would hope in the future you wouldn't post that information on a thread.

Anyway, the website you list is one website, and if it's the only website that mentions the "sorcery" of psychoactive drugs, perhaps it's not a very widely accepted way of seeing these meds. And if these views are not at all prevalent, why take the risk of causing others to feel accused and put down by repeating the claims in the website so often?

Please don't post anything that could lead others to feel accused.

But please don't take this personally, either, this doesn't mean I don't like you or think you're a bad person, and I'm sorry if this hurts you.

It's up to you to decide whom you interact with. Sometimes interacting with others may be frustrating, staying civil may be a challenge, and new skills may be required. If you're open to developing new skills (which I realize may not be why you came in the first place), that's another way in which you can be supported by other posters.

Lou, I'm also sorry if you felt hurt.

More information about posting policies and tips on alternative ways to express yourself, including a link to a nice post by Dinah on I-statements, are in the FAQ:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil

Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration. They, as well as replies to the above post, should of course themselves be civil.

Thanks,

Bob

It's just that we tend to put them first, almost as if they were gods, and put God second or even not on the radar screen. It's not unusual that we give more thought and time to our med situation each day than we spend talking to God.

Not due to punishment, but due to us voluntarily saying God I don't want you, and He politely says ok and stands out of the way, at which time the evils of the world are free to swarm us. When God gets more attention than our meds, the meds work better because of something intangible beyond our comprehension.

I'd like this site to be supportive of those of different faiths. Here are some examples of comments that I do and don't consider OK:

Tulsi, which is Sanskrit for "the incomparable one", is worshiped throughout India, most often regarded as a consort of Vishnu in the form of Mahalakshmi.[18][19] According to Brahma Vaivarta Purana she is the expansion of Radha.[20] There are two types of Tulsi worshiped in Hinduism"Rama Tulsi" has light green leaves and is larger in size; "Krishna Tulsi" has dark green leaves and is important for the worship of Vishnu.[21] Many Hindus have tulsi plants growing in front of or near their home, often in special Tulsi pots. It is also frequently grown next to Vishnu temples, especially in Varanasi.[22]
In the ceremony of Tulsi Vivah, Tulsi is ceremonially married to Vishnu annually on the eleventh bright day or twelfth of the month of Kartika in the lunisolar calendar. That day also marks the end of the four month cāturmāsya period, which is considered inauspicious for weddings and other rituals, and so the day inaugurates the annual marriage season in India. The ritual lighting of lamps each evening during Kartika includes the worship of the Tulsi plant, which is considered auspicious for the home. Vaishnavas especially follow the daily worship of Tulsi during Kartika.[23]
