Am i under a demonic attack /intense mental crisis

Posted by mmcconathy on February 26, 2005, at 23:20:08

I dont have the energy to post again what I am going throught. Look at my other posts from Psycho-babble, you will get an idea.

I dont know what is happening, i feel of detachment from reality, then after a hit of disturbing thoughts that get out of control, i will start screaming to god, jesus to get them out, it sometimes will end, but i have got to get a hold of what the hell is happening.

I am going to a church, and request an exorcism to anyhting that is in me. I dont care, just GET THEM OUT OF ME!!!

PRAY PRAY THIS WILL END PLEASE

I i dont know what eklse to put, i have got to get to a pastor, priest, induce an exorcism, what ever, thorazine, a f*cking gun to my head!

I been waking up from horrible dreams of disconnected from reality, walking throught a hallway of insanity, people who have gone insane, i will look into a mirror see me and then a person from the past who has lost there mind, laughing in the back ground, wake up paralazed screaming as if my being hacked to in slices.

I am a mellow person, i dont start fights with anyone, but all of sudden during this disconnection i feel a unknown force telling me to murder, i dont want to post anymore because it may come back. I want THIS TO GO AWAYYYY!!!!

if there is anyone out there who belives in the power of Jesus Christ, i beg you to pray for him to intervene, get me out of this, dont let me fall into the hands of oblvion.

Im keeping my bible, a cross, soon to find holy water, and a bottle of Thorazine by my bed at night, until this ends.

PRAY IN THE NAME OF CHRIST, AND BLESS YOU

I certainly will not.

I don't think it is time for you to give up just yet. I doubt anyone else is willing to give up on you.

I might not be a good person for you to converse with regarding demonic possession. I don't believe in it.

I do, however, know something about mental illness first hand. I have bipolar disorder. I have suffered a few psychotic manic states. For each of these episodes, God, Jesus, and the Devil became the objects of my intense focus. This is not an unusual phenomenon. It is called "religiosity" and is a symptom of the illness. When my manic episode resolved and my judgment returned, these religious issues receded.

Which idea do you prefer?

1. I am possessed by a demon sent by Satan for which an exorcism is the only remedy.

2. I am suffering from a temporary episode of a mental illness that is beyond my control and the result of an abnormal shift in my brain chemistry and for which there are many treatments.

I bet you chose #1.

I believe you are #2.

When I was manic, I would have chosen #1.

What do we do now?

PLEASE post what you think the next step should be.

I haven't given up on you.

It is written in this thread,[...which idea do you prefer?...]and,[...abnormal shift in brain chemistry...].
Could there be more ideas than just those two? For instance, could the poster's situation come about, if the poster is taking psychotropic or neuroleptic drugs, as a result of the chemicals in the drugs that the poster may be taking causing the [...abnormal shift in brain chemistry...]?

SLS,
You wrote,[...I don't think that it is time for you to give up just yet...].
Could you clarify what you mean in referrence to the part,{give up}? Also, could you tie what you mean by that up with what you mean by {just yet}?

Yes.

My praseology covers quite a few biological scenarios with respect to mental illness.

There are things that I did not include. You'll just have to remain in suspense as to what they are.

:-)

Is there something else about my post that does not resonate well with you?

Hi Lou.

I think the wording I chose is quite clear and the symantics adequately flexible to suit my goal in communication.

> Also, could you tie what you mean by that up with what you mean by {just yet}?

Please see above.

I absolutely believe in the power of Jesus Christ, and I am praying on your behalf.

Use everything available to you to get you through. Just DON'T EVER GIVE UP!!! You will get through this.

Just my personal opinion... philosophical discussions could be saved for threads started by someone who is not in crisis...

Lou, If I am not mistaken, I believe it is you who decided to interrupt the thread to question the minutia of my usage of words. I don't think it was helpful. This thread wasn't then, and isn't now, about philosophy, me, or you. I would suggest that any further discourse between us regarding this thread be moved to the Social board.

For anyone else reading this, I would like to say that the recession of pathological hyper-religiosity that occurs upon the resolution of a manic or other psychotic episode in no way devalues or minimizes the place that religion has in healing.
