The 7 Gates on the Road to the Crown of Life

Posted by Lou Pilder on September 21, 2002, at 7:17:33

Friends,
I am now going to explain the 6th and 7th Gates on the Road to the Crown of Life and also unveil the identity of the Rider on the white horse and His name.
Also I will tell of my transformation that enabled me to overcome addiction and depression.

Friends,
As we approached the 6th Gate, we stopped for refreshment. Before we went on, the Rider told us," The time is fullfilled, and the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand."

Friends,
I asked the Rider, "Who among us will dwell in the Kingdom of Heaven?" The Rider said to us,"He who walks uprightly and speaks uprightly. He who despises the gain of oppressions and refuses bribes. He who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil.
He will dwell on high. He will drink the waters of life. He will overcome and I will give him the Crown of Life.

Lou - Although you may want people to believe that you are delusional, but I really don't think that you are. The majority delusional beliefs I have heard clinically are usually far more convincing and logical (pseudo-logical?) than the tale that you are spinning here.

There is something inside of me that says you honestly don't actually believe that the story that you are telling is based on any manner of objective reality. I could be wrong, but I really don't think that you wholeheartedly believe the "7 Gates To Eternal Biss" tale that you are weaving, either.

The story's body actually makes for strained reading, which can discourage listeners (as well as those who want to believe). To me it seems that the plot and story are being made up on the spot (ie.improvised), as you are typing. I have noticed that you have been using subtle cues gleaned from other posters to garner support for what is essentially an underdeveloped storyline.

Could it be that when you came here and you boasted about knowing shortcuts to enlightenment, self-actualization, and having an "in" to be able spend eternity with your invisible master? And could it be that now, in order to save face you must try to maintain this charade.

Just to let you know, none of us here will think any less of you if you stop your story (at least until you have had a chance to think through the story, correcting the inconsistencies and flaws in logic that are glaringly obvious). Furthermore, you could take a creative writing course or two, so that you would be better able to lay out your thoughts in a concise and coherent manner.

If you are planning to do anything with your theory, the above is just a start. Also, to be truly convincing and effective, one has to sincerely believe in all aspects of the story. Better yet, rather than just relying on faith, you should see if you could come up with a hypothesis as to how some aspect of your theory operates. Then you just have to design an elegant experiment. The experiment must be designed so that other groups following your procedures and methods will arrive at the same conclusions as you profess.

Good luck with your mission ..... oh, and don't bother saving me a seat in your heaven. I ain't coming. Being a WASP by birth, I guess my culturally determined heaven would be filled with "Happy Christians" galavanting in bug-free fields, playing games like "Whose Got The Button", "I've Got a Secret, But Not From Jesus", "Name That Disciple" and the ever popular "Crusader and Moors".

To me, this heaven would be much worse than a certain Muslim sect's version of hell (eg. all that you have to drink for eternity is boiling water and pus). Hell, I ate my own cooking for a few years, and found that anything can become an acquired taste.

I do have one question that has been bothering me for several years now, and perhaps you would be able to enlighten me with your knowledge. Why is it that an omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent essence (?being?, ?non-being?, ?old man on a throne in the clouds?) would want lesser being to worship it. I would think that an all powerful being would be far more self-actualized than that.

And when this thing decides to show himself to us mere mortals, he makes statues and paintings weep, and makes stone cows drink milk. If you ask me, that pretty pathetic. Why not do that "wine and bread" thing again, and feed all of the starving children in the world. That might impress me, but I doubt that even that. Besides, most the people who I know who think that they will get to heaven when they die, are people I really do not want to spend an eternity with (and quite possibly they would not want to spend eternity with me).

I have lived a good life; I have contributed, in my small way, to help people maintain their health, and I think the world is a teeny tiny bit better off than it would have been without me. But, living a good life is not enough. Hypothetically, I could save the world from a major terrorist attack in which millions of innocent lives would have been lost; but I would not go to heaven because I did not take the lord jesus into my heart ......
...... What a crock of crap!!!!!

- Cam

DEFINITIONS:
omniscient: infinitely wise and all knowing.
omnipotent: has unlimited authority.
omnipresent: ubiquitous, is everywhere.

Please be sensitive to the feelings -- and faiths -- of others. Different points of view are fine, and in fact encouraged, but please don't be sarcastic, jump to conclusions about others or their experiences, or post anything that could lead them to feel accused or put down. The last time you were blocked it was for 1 week, so this time I'm making it for 2.

Friends,
Then a group of police cars with sirens and flashing lights approached us. The sheriff and his deputys told us to stay still . He said, " There is a body of an unknown man that died in the circus fire missing from the morgue back up the road. We have a witness that says that she saw a man that had TRIUMPH written on the back of his shirt leaving the hospital durring that time."
"That is me", I said. The sheriff said, "Put your hands up" and he patted me down.

Then the sheriff said to me, "Are you some type of political person trying to state a message?
Then Eleazer said, "I am the one that was dead and now I am alive." The sheriff then said, "Don't get smart with me. And I guess one of you is going to tell me ,next, that you are from Nazareth."

Friends,
The sheriff's name badge said "sheriff Lee". He then went over to the Rider and said, "We have reports from people describing a man like you that has cured psychotic people in the towns back on the road. Now we think that you gave them drugs. Let me see your driver's license."

Friends,
Sheriff Lee was holding the liscense and said, "Is this your address now, Salem?"
The Rider said, "Yes, we are on our way to my Father's house there."
Then sheriff Lee said, " Your going to have a difficult time getting to Salem. The bridge over the great gulf collapsed durring the earthquake and a 150 foot span is missing and no one can passover it. Also, there are forest fires out of controll and no one can put them out. And by the way, why is there no birthdate on this license?"

Friends,
Then we heard the sound of sirens and there were flashing lights. A man in full parade regailia approached us. His name badge read, "Chief Morganstern."
The Chief said to sheriff Lee, "Are you going to arrest these people?" Sheriff Lee said, "I think I will just show them out of town and the way to Salem. After all, if he says that they will triumph, then that would also mean that they will overcome."

The Rider said, "The Kingdom of God is not of this world. For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh-the lust of the eyes-the pride of life- is not of the Father. You are in the world, but be not of it. In the world you will have tribulation, but whosoever is born of God overcomes the world."
