Has this board died?
Or is it just the "Dark Night of the Board"?

Only when it's three o'clock in the morning.

I posted about the Sartre Cookbook. Any idea where I can get it?

Something about EJ gives me a lingering feeling of unease tinged with melancholy (of the "out of sorts," faintly dissatisfied variety). Maybe it's just the fact that a lot of is lyrics sound like gibberish to me.

I found the Sartre cookbook on a link on David Chalmers homepage
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~chalmers/
He has a "Philosophical Humor" section
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~chalmers/phil-humor.html
and here is the Sartre Cookbook:

The humor section is hilarious. My husband, the philosophy major in my life who, in his younger days, was never without his trusty Portable Nietzsche, will love the site.

I always loved Bernie Taupin's lyrics when I was a kid, and that happens to be my favorite song of all time. (That's not to say my favorite songs are good songs; Thin Lizzy's "The Boys are Back in Town" is near the top of the list for personal reasons!) But I love the reverb in "Bennie," and I like to sing it in the shower. I think someone like Tori Amos should remake it.
Welcome to the faithless. (Maybe they are blinded.)

That's probably because you understand it (and his other songs) and I don't! They just make me confuuuuuuuuuuused. :) I did like the sound of them at one point though, but they have a different effect on me now. In general, I've grown less and less fond of lyrics in music and prefer instrumentals.

David Chalmers is a really incredible philosopher. He is at University of Arizona, where I got a B.A. in philosophy years ago. I wish I was a few years younger so my college years could have corresponded with his tenure there...
