What I am reading.. and dinner with the author!

Posted by NikkiT2 on September 1, 2007, at 17:17:14

Currently reading "Pattern Recognition"..

And, what is too cool to even put into words is that on wednesday evening I had the utter, utter pleasure to go out to dinner with the author, William Gibson.. YES.. William Gibson :) :) :)

He was in London as part of his world wide book tour promoting "Spook Country", and me, my husband a group of online friends were invited to dinner with the man after a signing he did.

He is cool.. very cool.. very funny, very charming, very nice..

Just thought I would share *grins*

Enjoying the book very much too!

I am sooo envious!
I've been reading all the interviews with Gibson in support of the book tour. I think I've had a crush on him since, forever.
I've always had a thing for authors whose books I really enjoy (blushing). The nicest bit about when I used to live close to Manchester was being able to go to so many of the writers' meet and greet's at Waterstones. *Sigh* Now, THAT was a great bookstore. Somehow, Amazon just can't compare.

I've got this book on its way to me via a book swap service I use. Too cool, indeed!

"Pattern Recognition"

It's been out in paperback for several years now, but as always, William Gibson's writing is still cutting edge.

Thanks again, Nikki, for posting about it.

It sounds very familiar to me, but
it would have to be very old for me
to have read it.
