I take 20/Prozac+15/Abilify, daily. low dose gabapentin when/if needed. DIY Orthomolecular...loads of b-complex, around 16 grams of vitamin c, 1200(ish) IU natural form E, selenium, zinc, natural form beta carotene.
overall...wow. doing much, much better. true story. I do think the DIY OM has boosted the Rx treatments, and I also seem to tolerate the Abilify much better (0 stiff gait, 0 tics/eps, 0 TD, etc.). And yet...
-lazy- ! ok, not so much lazy as...space-y, a bit...unfocused. mood is -vastly- improved, now, but...
elements of the low mood/depression remain, mostly in the odd sleep, lack of concentration, etc. realms...the ruminations and (severe) anxiety have largely been handled w/ Prozac.
so...I ordered DLPA. big sale...gets me every time. 500mgs capsules, I'll now have 600 of them to work with, free shipping :-) .
how should I dose these bad boys? keep in mind...my official label/'diagnosis' is (as is often the case, it seems) "severe," but not necessarily Schizophrenia...more on the mood+psychosis combo spectrum.
ok. again, I don't have TD, I have normal blood pressure, and I'm mostly looking to put a lil pep in my step and help concentration...
some of that is probably 'the underlying disorder,' but some of this is probably trying to counteract the dulling/numbing effects of abilify+prozac, to whatever extent possible.
thanks in advance, everyone. :-)

Why not try that?

hi. how did the 1gram work for you?
i need to be more on task, etc., so I'm following a higher dosage schedule...I found one for pain management. im not in pain, but my attention is scattered, so I thought...well, go higher.
i actually rather like it, for now. no adverse effects i can figure out, just...mild mood lift, better concentration, im actually (gasp) getting a bit more done here and there, already.
obviously, i make use of The Google, etc., I was just hoping to get some personal experiences to guide my own DIY adventures. thanks. :-)

1g helped. Made m feel a bit zingy. Maybe better to take that a couple of times a day rather than more at once? I haven't taken it for a long time. Maybe the d-phenylalanine part of it would do me good?

the pain management dosing schedule I saw called for 5, maybe 6grams/daily, in 3 divided doses. since I take a full dose 'atypical,' I went with that...
and it seems to be working nicely. 'so far, so good.' :-)

I don't see anything wrong with a 2g dose.
Tell me if it makes you feel somehow more comfortable physically. I am particularly interested in that, and also the mood lift.
I used to quite like it.

mood lift...yes. subtle, but...good. :-)
physically? I think it loosens things up a tad. good thing, also.
keep in mind...I'm on 15/Abilify + 20/Prozac, daily. because of drug-drug interactions, that's more like 20-30/Abilify. blah.
hope this helps. :-)
